This simple quote also applies to Rowdy. If you have read the book, you can probably see that Rowdy is the kind of person who can't control himself, he has a very big temper problem. He's not the kind of person that you can easily be friends with. Its better to not be friends with him. So now you are wondering, if Rowdy is the kind of person who can fight anyone he sees, can he have fear? Well, the answer is yes. Anyone in the world can have fear and that is why Rowdy is living his whole life fighting people. Think about your life. When somebody is very angry or afraid of something, can they go through their life with happiness and enjoyment? The answer is NO! No one can do that. This satifies the fact that Rowdy is probably angry or having a fear about something. In the Absolutely True Diary of a Part time Indian, in the chapter where Arnold tells him that he is leaving the rez and going to go to Reardan for education, Rowdy buckles down and starts to cry. This shows how Rowdy's life is very unstable. In addition to crying, Rowdy also punches Arnold right in the face! In my opinion, it is telling me that he is not going to be himself when Arnold leaves. He is going to be sad in his own way. For instance he might be killing and beating up everybody. In conclusion, fear can occur to everybody, even big tough guys.

This quotes also relates to rowdy because mostly the only way (Sometimes) for people like Rowdy to get out anger or fustration they think of violance. This also happend when someone is afraid of something so they most likely will use violence. If you read that chapter where Arnold tells Rowdy about him switching school it will say Rowdy started to cry and thats how you know he was sad or afraid. Deep down inside when Rowdy beat Arnold up he new he was doing the wrong thing.
The quote said by Jawaharal Nehru is, “There is perhaps nothing so bad and so dangerous in life as fear.” This quote reflects to Arnold and Rowley in the book, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian by Sherman Alexie. This quote mostly applies to Arnold differently. Arnold is a kid that has a bad appearance and is a Native American. Most people think that Native Americans have no dream or future, but Arnold does. That is Arnold’s biggest fear now. He moves to a rich school full of whites and is scared. He is mainly afraid of being made fun of from his appearance and him being a Native American. Arnold had his fear, but it was not the first time. Back in the Native American school, he was also made fun of for his appearance. He didn’t need to be scared. Fear is also happening in Arnold’s life wherever he goes and he no longer needs to be scared. If he needs a good career and is hopeful, he needs to pass whatever that is blocking him from it.
The quote also applies a little to Rowley which is Arnold’s best friend. Rowley is very different from Arnold, but they are still friends protecting each other. Arnold is a very hopeful person, also wanting tons of education. Rowley is different, he is a tough guy that always fights and loses control of what he does. He also has anger issues. Rowley always get mad at stuff and start beating it. That is one of the fears he has. Having no fear is when things are peaceful, but not to Rowley. Rowley always gets in fights to pass his fear because he is not afraid and thinks it isn’t bad. Up to the part we read in class, Arnold told Rowley he was leaving. Rowley was sad and it was a fear. He got so mad that he passes the fear by punching Arnold in the face. Rowley is an unbeatable guy that passes all his fears and they aren’t bad.

Although the quote applies to Arnold slightly more it also affects Rowley. One way the quote is shown to affect Rowley is. By loosing Arnold he is now learning how to be more independent. This shows while Rowley is loosing his best friend he is also gaining independence. Another piece of evidence that shows how the quote also affects Rowley is now that Arnold is gone we can infer that Rowley is going to attempt to make an effect to become nicer to his piers and to make friends. This shows that even though Rowley is loosing a huge aspect of his life he may be able to drop the negative attitude and become and nicer person.

This quote applies to Arnold because he lived in fear. He was afraid of being bullied, being called harsh names on the rez because of his brain disorders, big feet, and small body. He also feared that his dog passing away would make him more lonely, Oscar was Arnolds only friend at that time. When Oscar died Arnold lost all hope of being happy, until Arnold met Rowdy. Arnold and Rowdy became bestfriends, and over the years Rowdy has been Arnold's protector, especially when it came to bullies, and other threats around him. The reason why a kid like Arnold, and a kid like Rowdy would become friends is because people were scared of Rowdy, therefore he had no friends, and Arnold was scary looking, so he didn't have any friends either.
This quote applies to Rowdy because when Arnold and Rowdy had an arguement that broke up their friendship Rowdy had lost his only friend, and feared that he will never have another friend again, and that Arnold will not want to be his friend ever again. At one point Rowdy started crying because of his relationship with Arnold, Rowdy wasn't such a tuff guy then. This shows how fear can get in the way of happiness, and friendships. Rowdy was a boys with fear, who let it rule his life.

This quote also applies to Rowdy too. This quote applies to Rowdy is, he is Arnold's best friend. His only friend. In one of the chapters, Arnold told Rowdy that he is going to Rearden. Rowdy is a type of person who can't control his feelings, so, he gets his anger out by hitting people. Rowdy is sad that Arnold is leaving the rez, to go to another school, and he fears that he will loose his only friend. But Rowdy has an anger problem, so instead, he hits Arnold in the face, which he knows that it was his weak, and fragile part of his whole body. Rowdy also cried, and that shows us that he cares about Arnold, and he doesn't want him to leave the rez. That is Rowdy's fear and has made an impact to his life. The fear of Arnold going to Rearden and the fear that he will lose his best, and only friend.

The quote also kind of direct's to Rowley who happends to be Arnold’s best and only friend. Rowdy is very different than Arnold, but they are still friends protecting one another. Arnold is a very hopeful person, also wants a way better education. Rowdy is different than Arnold, he is a tough guy that always fights and is aggressive. He also has anger issues. Rowdy always get mad at stuff and start beating it. That is one of the fears he has. Having no fear is when things are peaceful, but not to Rowdy. Rowdy always gets in fights to pass his fear because he is not afraid and thinks it isn’t bad. Up to the part we read in class, Arnold told Rowdy he was leaving. Rowdy was upset and he was afraid, he was so upset it turned into anger and got so mad that he passes the fear by punching Arnold in the face.

The quote also affects Rowdy emotionally yet different from Arnold. Rowdy is a big, tough macho man who doesn’t show fear but acts out in fear due to his abuse by his father. In the chapter, Arnold expresses to Rowdy that he chooses to attend Rearden. Rowdy is unable to control his emotions and began screaming from anxiety of losing his best friend and ended up punching Arnold in the face on his super sensitive spot. Rowdy felt sorry for hurting his best friend but then again was very upset that Arnold is leaving him. Unfortunately, Rowdy is continuously beaten by his father who becomes drunk often and for Rowdy he redirects his fear of his father on others by fighting.

This quote represents Rowdy by him losing his best friend and becoming to a more angrier state and would be losing the one thing he cared about. Arnold was the one thing that kept Rowdy refused tat anyone injure and he protected Arnold. the things that Rowdy learns is that people change and you have to learn from what happens. Also how close you were to Arnold before he left.

This also represents Rowdy, because Rowdy is like a very angry person. It’s easy to get him mad, but he goes overboard which makes us all wonder that he has anger management problems. And after hearing that his best friend Arnold is leaving him and their school to go to the school they’re against, really disappointed him and he got angry.

Also relating to this quote it applies it applies to rowdy by just basically the way he acts around Arnold and other people. One issue that rowdy has to deal with is anger. So instead of just talking things out he takes the hard way and yells and screames and also making the person feel bad themselves. I think one of the reasons why rowdy acts this way isdind because he has alot of fear in his life. Maybe he's afraid of lo

Although, this quote applies to Arnold it applies to Rowdy as well when he loses Arnold. When Rowdy loses Arnold as a best friend he will soon learn to be independent. Rowdy had always had Arnold by his side, but when Arnold moved to the Rearden Rowdy and Arnold were no longer friends. Rowdy punched Arnold in the head. Rowdy will hopefully learn to control his temper, and the consequences that are caused. Now, Rowdy lost a best friend but next time if he doesn’t learn to control his temper he will lose something much worse.

The way I think this would match Rowdy because his dad’s gets drunk and abuses his wife and son a lot so he loses the safely of his own home when Arnold started going to the other school he got mad and beat him up even when they been long time friends. Rowdy is a tough person and fights for Arnold he lost a best friend and new keeps hating him.

This quote relates to Rowdy as he lost his only friend Arnold and day after day he became lonely because he lost the only good thing in his life. Another example is Rowdy kept the cartoon Arnold gave him as a friendship offering. Rowdy did not rip the photo because he knew how important it was to Arnold and missed him.
