In Suzanne Collins' dystoplan novel, MockingJay, the monster is President Snow. President Snow is the President of the Capitol of District 12. District 12 is in a poor situation because the Capitol is in charge of District 13 their people, and President Snow has created the Hunger Games. He destroyed Katniss' hometown by not caring about the people when they are very poor, and not thinking about how much they suffered by not having food and supplies needed. He just wanted to scared people and trying to say to the people that he has more power to control anything. "My skin itches with the ashes of the dead." This quote shows that President Snow was trying to make the people scared for the Hunger Games because he want his people to die. Therefore, President Snow is a monster for making his people die.
In Rick Riordan's fantasy novel, The Sea of Monsters, one of Percy's monsters has to be enemy Clarisse. She is also a Camp Half Blood member with Percy that bullies and picks on every beginner in Camp. She also has two other unknown ugly friends who also are along side with her, to pick on half bloods. Percy has once stated, "She would also try to stick my head into the toilet and flush it." This quote shows she is a monster because she does horrible things to innocent first timers in Camp Half Blood. Clarisse would also try to harm Percy by hurting him during his first game of one team dueling their opponents. She would fight against Percy and do any attack style to prove he isn't enough for this Camp. Therefore, because Clarisse is one of Percy's biggest and oldest enemies, Percy's biggest monster is Clarisse.
In Cassandra Clares fantasy book City of Glass, one of Clary's monsters was Valentine Morgenster. He is a monster because he will kill anyone who gets in his way. Valentine says that "“The Angel blade burns you, just as God's name chokes you," said Valentine, his cool voice sharp as crystal. "They say that those who die upon its point will achieve the gates of heaven. In which case, revenant, I am doing you a favor." He lowered the blade so that the tip touched Simon's throat. Valentine's eyes were the color of black water and there was nothing in them: no anger, no compassion, not even any hate. They were empty as a hollowed-out grave. "Any last words?" Valentine says this quote to Simon because valentine was going to kill Simon. This shows that Valentine will kill anyone that stands in the way of what he wants to achieve. Therefore Valentine is a killer and a monster
In Dave Pelzer's auto-biography A man named Dave, one of Dave's monsters was his own mother. She was a monster because she would beat him like a cheap drum. And he said that."If I could kill my mother, I would." And that was the most lowest thing a kid could say about his mother. So this quote showed how much Dave hated his mother when he was a kid.
In Jeff Kinney's realistic fiction novel, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, one of Greg's monsters is Rodrick. Rodrick is always trying to find a way to make fun of Greg or make him look bad. They both hate each other. One mean thing that made Rodrick a monster was that Rodrick made Greg set up a party then he shoved him in the basement and locked the door."But as soon as I stepped foot in the basement, I heard the door lock behind me." This quote shows that Rodrick didnt want him to be in the a high school party so he forced him to help set up and then he forced him to go down the basement and locked the door. Therefore this proved that Rodrick was one of the monsters in the book
In Rick Riordan's Fantasy novel Mark of Athena, the monster is Gaea. She is a Titan who is trying to end the civilization of the Half bloods from the Roman side and the Greek side. She has been the monster for the rest of the series. She might not kill the 7 half-bloods if she doesn't think the pain would be enough. For an example in the second book, she let Percy live. He was with this other guy and had this bet. They had these two containers with identical liquid. One was poison the other was an antidote. Gaea let Percy live because " Your death will be much more painful than gorgon's blood" the other guy had a pretty bad death. He was screaming and he was dripping from the heat of the acid. This shows how she would chose the worst and most horrible way to kill the 7 demigods on this quest.
In Carl Deuker's realistic fiction novel Heart of A Champion there is not a clear antagonist yet. So I am taking the perspective of the dad to suggest that he might be the one to get in my main character Jimmy's way. "Baseball!! I didn't raise you to wan't to be a baseball lover,I raised you to be a golf player just like me. A campion golf player, not a slugger. There is no way i am letting you play baseball you could get injured really badly multiple times while playing that dangerous game unlike golf all you have to do is stand there and hit the ball far enough for it to get close the hole you hve to hit to. So I am going to teach you to play golf well and that's final. I just don't wan't you to pick the wrong path."
In the realistic fiction novel My SIster's Keeper by Jodi Picoult, the protagonist's main monster is her mom. Her mom is always making Anna (the protagonist) donate her body parts to her sister Kate who has lekumia. Her mom is always assuming that Anna wants to help her sister and donate things from her body to Kate but she doesn't really want to because Anna feels that her mom only cares about Kate and worries for her the most. "You have any names picked?.. It strikes me that I don't... I have thought of this daughter only in terms of what she will be able to do for the daughter I already have." (100). This quotes proves that her mom cares about Kate more than she does for Anna because she gave birth to her just for her to save the daughter she already has which is sort of rude in a way because that means the reason why she gave birth to a child was to save the child she already has which means Anna is technically something for Kate to survive with.
In Ishmael Beah's non fiction memoir, A Long Way Gone the monster in my book are the rebels. The rebels burned downed, Sierra Leone and other villages, but they also killed many, many, many lives. Like i said before, they killed women, men, girls, boys, and babies. The rebels are monsters because they killed people for no reason, and they are really heartless because they killed children. "We should change our strategy.Next time we should attack all the villages at the same time" (97). This quote proves that the rebels are monsters.
Rodrick RulesIn diary of a wimpy kid, Rodrick's rule, the biggest monster that affects the protagonist is Rodrick. Rodrick bullies his brother. He makes his brother so miserable at home and school. Every time Rodrick does something wrong, he always blame it on his brother. Those two might never get along. But when Rodrick and his brother got along when Greg(protagonist) kept a secret for Rodrick, they became friends but later in the book Rodrick became a monster again.
In Walter Dean Myers realistic fiction book, Game, a monster in the book for Drew is Drew`s coaches, House and Fletch. I say that because in the book, it says that they didn't say that he was good, and also that he wasn't ready for college ball, and worse for NBA. So for the coaches saying that, they took him out the starting line up and also when they put him in, he was playing horrible. But then, he started calming down and relaxing with the team that he got better. So that's all.
In Stephanie myers science- fiction novel The Host the biggest monsters are the seekers.Melanie stryder (0ne of the portangist)is one of the surivers of a partistic alien attack on earth, were aliens called souls take over human-bodies.Their is a soul who finds Melanie called the seeker the seeker is a soul who purpose is finding the suriving humans. So she impants a soul called wanderer into melanie's-body so she can gain information as to were the other humans are."get the soul that has traveled to nine diffrent planets surely she would be able to handle this." This shows that the seeker is the monster because she is trying to kill off everyone on the planet for the attention of trying to make the world all for the souls.
In the fictional novel Eragon, buy Christopher Poalini, one of the monsters is Galbotorix. In the novel, Eragon finds out that he is a dragon rider. News goes around about him in the Empire, so is he forced to escape so Galbatorix can't catch him. Galbotorix tries to get Eragon to give in by killing those who are close to him, like his uncle. Eragon states, "We can't give up. If he catches me, he'll probably kill Roran"(546). The quote shows that Galbotorix is the monster in the novel because he would also kill Eragon's cousin, Roran.
In Jules Verne's realistic fiction novel, Around The World In 80 Days, one of the monsters is Mr. Fix. The reason for this is because throughout the journey, Mr. Fix has been attempting to capture and arrest Mr. Fogg, the protagonist. A bank had been robbed and Mr. Fogg was being accused. He does not realize this and also doesn't think of Mr. Fix as a hostile person. Mr. Fix mentions in the text, if he doesn't capture him soon there was going to be issues and Mr. Fogg would be able to get away. Another reason for Mr. Fix being a monster is because he had tried to delay Mr. Fogg by drugging his servant and changing his boat ride schedule. At one point he severely delayed Mr. Fogg by several days. Towards the end the issue gets cleared up and Mr. Fix is no longer a monster then.
