My husband was just saying that the other day, while we were watching the new Green Arrow show (Arrow, on the CW).

Nifty! I wasn't sure if you had seen it, since you've mentioned you're in the UK. It's pretty good, IMO, though I have never read Green Arrow (I'm totally a Marvel girl!)

Well, Batman is a superhero if Iron Man is. Their super-powers are money and high IQs, LOL. But, yeah, Batman was originally called a "detective" rather than a superhero. (Still not even the world's greatest detective. That's definitely Sherlock Holmes.)

Me too! I've been working my way through the complete Sherlock Holmes all year.

I've got like five books of his cases...and I've seen the movies. Have to say Robert Downey Jr. does a good Sherlock XD

Did any of you see the picture that was floating around, pointing out that RDJ has played both Holmes and Iron Man, and that in the original books Holmes was described as a "man of iron"? :O LOL.

Does Hawkeye have some kind of backstory like Iron Man and Starlord? As far as I'm concerned, Hawkeye's kind of just... there.

He and his brother were orphans who ran away and joined the circus. That's where Hawkeye learned to be a master archer.
He left the circus, then took up with the Black Widow ( who was still an evil commie spy and didn't have the catsuit yet).
He was tricked into fighting Iron man and was a bad guy for a couple issues.
After Iron man helped him and nominated him to the Avengers, where he spent many years as the team's resident wise ass.

Yep. Every Marvel person has a back story.

So, are people hoping Hawkeye gets a solo movie or is fandom happy with his story being told as small bits of the Avenger movies?
