Hey everyone! So I just wondered, what do you use to mark the page you're on in a book? Bookmarks? The closest thing you can find? Or do you just flip the corner of the page? ;)
Oh and if you do use a bookmark, what does it look like and do you have more than one? :)

I either use a book mark or whatever i can find. I cant stand "dog ears" in books. They annoy me sooo much. I have a really cool book mark. Its a puppy!!! when i mark the page, its head rests on its paws on the top of the book. Its soooo cute and its fuzzy :D :D :D

Agreed, "dog earring" the page is awful! I typically book mark the page with a scrap of paper that I probably ripped off of something important... Whoops haha. I have some actually bookmarks but they're never around when I need them and they heavier so they tend to fall out of my book in my backpack

I always lose the store-bought bookmarks so I usually end up just using a random slip of paper I find, or making my own, which I also usually lose. I'm not the best at keeping things :p

I usually take a random scratch piece of paper, doodle on it with sharpie, and use that as my bookmark until it gets too worn out XD

I usually use book marks also..I have a ton of bookmarks! but if there isnt one close by i use random peices of paper...

I never use proper bookmarks, they annoy me. So instead I just randomly rip a piece of paper or if a have a real book mark, I rip it in fourths because they're really long and bug me :)

Bookmarks! :) My favorite is blue with a picture of a palmist's map from the 16th century on it. I like the thick, cardboardish paper ones that aren't too long. ;)

I hate doggy earing as well. I only use that as a last resort. Normally I use bookmarks and if I can't find one I'll use just random scraps of paper.

I hate dog earing so I normally just find a piece of scrap paper to use because I always lose my bookmarks.

I HATE IT when people "dog-ear" pages, it really bothers me! And it's ineffective too, because if you crease them too much, then they can't come undone and you lose your place when there are so many dog-eared pages. It makes me so mad! Books are precious.

I've never one dog-eared and don't plan to, it's horrible! I usually end on a chapter and remember it or just remember the page number. If it's a really long book I'm taking loads of time to read then I'll usually cut a long stip of pretty card or paper and use that. "Real" bookmarks are too thick or just plain annoying.

Dog earring, writing, highlighting, bending back covers, and other such actions are BOOK ABUSE! Don't do them people! It's like a sacrilege! O.O

I just memorize the page number. Gets to be a challenge when I reading three at once, but I manage fine. :)

I just memorize the page number which I normally forget the next day so I have to flip through the pages to find the right page...

my last resort is memorizing the page number. I like sticky notes because then you can put it right on the paragraph your on and use any bookmark of your choice.

I usually fold the corner of the page i know its bad but i dont always have a bookmark i keep loosing them. Still im very bad a memory LOL

I have the most beautiful bookmark that has been with me through every book I've read and gone on adventures and fallen in love and fought monsters and flown and been captured by evil guys and gone with me thorugh ever step of the journey! It understands me! *serious face* okay nvm... *bursts out laughing*
but yeah, bookmark, it's like a shepherds crook and it has beads that hang of the end of it and dangle outside the book when you put the bookmark in.

Oh I have one like that! They're so pretty! But it's never around when I need a bookmark so I never use it... When I did use it I felt that it falls out really easily

I usually just remember the page I'm on... But bookmarks are so pretty that if I have one ill use it.

I just use a post-it note most of the time...I lose the nice ones all the time :/

Recently I've found through my years of reading I have accumulated quite a few bookmarks accidentally and through presents. My most used method has always been to memorize the page, seeing as I have a naturally good memory for dates and names and stuff - including page numbers.

But I didn't want to feel ungrateful to the bookmarks that had been bought for me or sent to me so I started using them recently.

I have some cute ones: a butterfly clip one,bookworm clip one, crown princess clip one, panther that moves around (like that back and forth kind), a book bungee, and a few others.

I use what ever I got on handy as a bookmarker at the point in time.

I sometimes read a few books at once or want to take a break from a book for a while so i use a lot of bookmarks. I have this fancy metal one that you can slide in and is points at the line you left off at. But most of the time i use this one that i made in the 3rd grade which has a bunch of ABC's stickers that put together i what i liked at the time. (like 3rd grade was when i read my 1st harry potter book & HSM for High School Musical cause it was awesome back then.)
And for those books i stop reading for a while i put colorful tissue paper that my school once used as confetti. :) But i would NEVER dogear my book or any book.

i always use a bookmark.I feel bad if i doggie-ear the page. it kinda ruins the book. I have 4 of them. one with lightning that says powered by awesomeness, another that has the mockingjay pin and says "Why am i not dead? I should be dead."-Katniss Everdeen, one that has that says angry nerds, and makes fun of the angry birds, and the last one has a picture of a face that has an X mark over the mouth. that one says: Silence is golden............. but its also boring.

Bookmarks and sometimes dog-eared, sorry guys. But now I have a ton of bookmarkers, I'm not doing that anymore :)

Oh, wow...lol don't worry I do that sometimes...if I don't have a bookmarker on me :)

I usually use a bookmark but if I've lost it I'll use some other piece of paper. For hardcover books I'll use the cover flap to mark my page.

I use a whole assortment of things... I try to use bookmarks but I don't always. I don't fold over the pages any more (I used to all the time), I use scraps of paper, a ruler, a protractor, basically anything flat, and sometimes my finger. I have tons of bookmarks - people have given them to me, I've bought them, got them free, or found them in library books.

I always use a Flikart bookmark. :)

Ribbon. Like, a red ribbon if reading a book that has the color red in it...Who says you can't be color coordinated with a book?

I mostly read on my iPad so I use the little red flags. But when I read a paperback I read to an even number so it's easier to remember the page.

I usually dog ear the page, or I remember what page number it is so I can turn to it.

I use bookmarks or I pick the closest thing to me, Or when I'm reading on my Kindle I bookmark the page with the blue flags :D

Sometimes I'll get my ipod and use it as a bookmark XD

It depends on the book. XD
When I issued Clockwork Angel it was such a pretty book that I only used bookmarks.
I dog-eared The City of Ashes.
Other times, I just grab whatever's closest to me. XD

I have a horrible habit of always dog-earing my pages. Even my mom hates it.

Last year I bought a Peeta bookmark, and it says his name and District 12 AND HIS BEAUTIFULNESS, and I use this bookmark for every single book I read!!! I'm quite attached to it...
My friend has this awesome bookmark of a shirtless guy holding a book and it says 'Reading is HOT' and she named him Mark...get it?? :P Bad pun, I know...XD
