I know that I am very informal in my writing, and when I speak, I'm nervous at the beginning and then I get into it. :D
I find it annoying that pretty much all my teachers like us to do something different during a speech. Some like us to use hand gestures, some don't. Some encourage not using palm/prompting cards, others bring down your grade if you don't use them. So what I do during a speech really depends on who my teacher is, because I'm quite relaxed if the teacher is friendly and calm, but if the teacher's imdimidating, I'll get quite nervous.
I get more nervous giving a speech in front of my favorite teacher than my least favorite. Or people from the Speech/Debate club. It's one of those things where you want people to like what you've written, and you're afraid they won't.
I speak somewhat formal normally so it just carries over. I also gesture often
I get sooooooooooooooo nervous. I hate to admit it, but I guess it's a fear of failure or something.
Or maybe it's just because something that you've never do makes you nervous. Like going to the pub for the 1st time.
I like talking in front of class, and I am pretty good at it, but sometimes I randomly start giggling...
