Gary Markwick (garymarkwick) | 23 comments Hi Everyone,

My book is called "Now it Begins" and is a self help book which is practical and spiritual with ancient leaning and short stories. The book is split into 10 distinct phases.

AS the world is changing fast, a great shift of universal energy is taking place. Some of us are aware of this and are ready to move forward and leave behind an old world that has suffered from greed, selfishness, anger, blame and hatred. This means, raising our vibrations of energy from within and connecting with one another on a higher and faster frequency that is happening now on this planet. For some this is inconceivable and for others, the transformation has already begun.

Alan Phillips | 3 comments A Sealed Fate
A Sealed Fate by Lisa Gordon

I think this fits well with as a new age book as the central theme is fate vs freewill and the plot centers around an astrologer and her prediction.

Valda is fleeing a broken life. On Table Mountain they took no notice of her scream of anguish but in the part of the Empty Quarter they call Dubai she finds it’s just the same old game of promises, promises, the good-hearted and generous of spirit invited not so much into the parlour as the Bedouin tent, and finding herself in the clutches of a devious predator. Scheherazade had to spin endless tales to stay alive; Lisa Gordon’s Valda has to feed a different habit and when the evil sheikh has had his fill of her she knows she will end up like her predecessors, buried under sands which consumed Ozymandias, the king of kings. It is then she has her chance meeting with Larissa. This practitioner of the ars mathematica damnabilis has a plan which might just enable Valda to escape her Arabian nightmare. These two women make a formidable team, each complementing the other’s strength and weaknesses. Instead of tales they spin their web to lure the spider from his lair…

Lyssa Armenta (gentle_goodnight) | 1 comments Gentle Goodnight

Hi!
My favorite genre of books! I am the author of Gentle Goodnight which is based on a spiritually aware parenting philosophy of treating babies as we would like to be treated. Currently the majority of babies in the U.S. are crying themselves to sleep because it works, but why it works is not acceptable to me.
My book teaches moms an actual step-by-step sleep method to get their babies to sleep that is loving and enjoyable for baby and mom with many benefits.
Why it fits in this category is because it tends to be the more spiritually minded people who embrace a loving sleep method and even if they are not a new mom they will eventually cross paths with one.

I listed it as a giveaway today so hope some of you will have a look.

'Every single one of us lives our lives within a wheel, a circle, a hoop or a web and every single one of us can benefit from learning how to live our lives to the full within it. The problem though, for many of us, is that because we do not belong to the culture of a medicine wheel or wheel of direction, we find that the wheels do not really fit us or we have trouble connecting with or remembering the attributes. This book provides information, guidance and exercises to help readers find ways to connect with the web of life and weave their path within it.'

Crea S. Ward (creasward) | 8 comments Friends and readers,

If you believe there is no magic left in this world, I would love to take you on an adventure to prove otherwise. Check out the Biogenes quintent (book 1 currently released and book 2 soon to come) on Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/Biogenes-The-Ca.... This is a fantasy series that focuses heavily on the philosophical, challenging a growing character to face concepts of good and evil, social justice, love, hate, and both the strength and weakness of humanity. Royalties will all be donated to the Morris Animal Foundation.

Biogenes: The Castle of Divides
In the quiet reaches of our world, where humans rarely dare to tread and more rarely care to trespass, lie the remnants of a fading world. There rule the mythical beasts, creatures of cunning wit and uncanny power, who hide away the secrets that mankind seems to have forgotten long ago – including that humans possess magic of their own. Yet keeping those secrets comes at a price, and when the agencies charged with protecting them step in, a normal high school girl by the name of Silver Alurian finds herself face-to-face with a sandy-haired, bronze-eyed youth who seems as if he has something to hide. Determined to find out what it is, she follows him deeper into a world of strikingly magnificent magic, forgotten beasts, and scientists bent on reviving dragons from extinction. She soon realizes, however, that nothing about the world of magic is as defined as he seems to believe. Dark forces are moving where humanity’s reach does not extend, and their goals lie sleeping in the shadowed corridors of the Castle of Divides.

Jump When Ready on Amazon

Jump When Ready:

Since he drowned, Henry has remained isolated with the same group of teenagers and he keeps wondering why. After all, what could he possibly have in common with a Mohawk-sporting punker from the 80s, a roller skater from the 70s with a thing for kimonos, and an English “rocker” from the 60s? Add to that, Henry can hear the other groups but he never sees them. Soon, Henry learns that his new friends all possess unique skills for making themselves noticed by the living. Is Henry’s group kept isolated because of their abilities? If so, are they considered gifted or seen only as a potential bad influence?

Before Henry can reach any conclusions, he witnesses his sister being kidnapped. He knows who did it, where she’s being held and what will happen if the kidnappers don’t get what they want. As the police chase false leads, Henry comes to realize that he’s his sister’s only hope. But for Henry to even have a chance, he has to convince a group of teenagers that dead doesn’t mean helpless.

Judah Freed (judahfreed) | 23 comments Seeing that this thread welcomes "new age" authors seeking support, I'd like to invite your help with a "crowdsourcing' project for my book, THE DAWN OF GLOBAL SENSE: Awakening to the Rising Global Consciousness Now Changing Our Lives (A call for world enlightenment inspired by Thomas Paine's Common Sense).

I am looking for a new phrase (ideally one or two words), that describes "global citizens" and "global thinkers." Both terms are true enough, but what's needed is a fresh phrase that hooks the imagination of people in the book trade and helps popularize a global sensibility among the general public.

So, what do YOU call the people who live their lives with a global awareness?

Here are some of their main characteristics:

They know we all are globally interconnected. This global awareness guides all of their daily life choices. Their lives influence others. They hold the vision for us to manifest our highest and best human potential. They serve as our inspiring "role models." They are local to global "activists" and "advocates." They are "practical idealists." They ask people to wake up to our global oneness. The apply the Law of Attraction. Do you get the idea?

What one word or phrase best describes such people, perhaps people like yourself?

FYI: Here is the book: http://hokuhouse.com/dawn-global-sense/

message 23: by Trevor (new)

Trevor Veale | 15 comments My suuggested phrase fwiw to describe "global citizens/thinkers" is "planetarians". It's a mouthful, but what I'm trying to get at is that we all share one planet, and we ought to start thinking in a more planetary way, as of our home being this planet. (One of the meanings of "planetary" in the dictionary is "global".)
If "planetarians" sounds too long and cumbersome, how about "planeters"?

Alain Forget (alainforget) | 5 comments Hello,

What a great group! I am honored to be part of it. I am the author of How To Get Out Of This World Alive, a self-empowerment handbook designed to help you break through your psychological subconscious conditioning so you can start making conscious winning choices.

Picasso said that the purpose of art is 'Washing the dust of daily life off our souls'. My work as a philosopher is washing away the subconscious losing choices that we make every day by creating a level of awareness that gives us the chance to make conscious winning choices and to evolve.

I have spent 40 years reading the world's greatest life changing texts in every religion and philosophy. By testing techniques distilled from that learning, I have developed an approach that gives people the benefit of those thousands of years of wisdom and thought, summarized in one practical manual. How to Get out of this world Alive contains within its pages a method of teaching which delivers profound change very quickly for those who are committed to it.

My students, who include leading business people as well as academics studied in these areas, tell me there is nothing else on the market as verifiably effective.

My mission is to reduce the amount of dysfunction in the world by reducing the amount of dysfunction in those who lead it, and to allow anyone who wants to do the work to find their true potential and evolve.

I am open to discussion! Check out my website when you have a change as well www.alainforget.comHow to Get Out of This World Alive

Ivinela Samuilova | 5 comments Hi. Great to meet you all.

I am looking for readers interested in reading my book, Life Can Be a Miracle, recently translated into English. Here's some more information about my book -

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” - Albert Einstein
This is the motto of the cheerful debut novel by Ivinela Samuilova ‘Life Can Be a Miracle’ - the story of Adie who, as a child, wholeheartedly believed that her life would be unusual. However, bit by bit she fell prisoner to the routine of everyday life and lost connection with herself. Adie believed that if she could only find her calling, she would be able to make sense of her existence. Then she met the psychologist Alexey who helped her to look at herself and at her life from a different perspective. Adie's journey inspires the reader to re-examine their own internal reality. Are miracles really possible? Inspiring, sincere, witty and refreshing, this is a book for readers who want a fresh take on reality, who do not take themselves too seriously and who would like to explore their own potential and live a more fulfilled and satisfying life, starting from within.

I will be happy to send a pdf or mobi file for Kindle in return for an honest review on Amazon and Goodreads.

Please reply if you are interested.
Many thanks,
Ivinela

Phillip Hubbell | 1 comments Hello...I have two books out:

God's Motive
Infinity Squared

They are the first two of three...Standing Still...is the next one in a series. The idea is to write a view of humanity from the point of view of the afterlife. Not a Christian one, but the one that happens when the author of book one dies.

When you die, you stand still in the very spot where your biological spark stopped. Everything else moves on and you are utterly alone. However, there are perks. You receive a data download from everyone who lived before you of all their memories of both ideas and sensations. You can use that data to reconstruct any world you wish. You are omnipotent in your own universe. It is free will without consequence.

Available from iBooks, Amazon, Barnes and Noble.com, Books-a-Million.com, Booklocker.com, paperback or eBooks.

Amber Foxx (amberfoxx) | 250 comments The covers say “New Age”. A psychic mystery series. I think this genre is my true home, but most booksellers don’t have such a place for me to be found. If you have a real interest in psychic phenomena and energy healing, you may enjoy my work.
I write fiction in which ordinary reality intersects with another aspect of what is possible. Genre? Mystery. Paranormal. Fiction/Literature. Suspense. A touch of romance. How about just a good story? There is a little supernatural scariness, and there is a mystery that is not a murder, and the style and pace are along the lines of the “fiction/literature” genre.

Amber Foxx (amberfoxx) | 250 comments Solstice and New Year’s Sale: The Calling

Start the New Year with a new author. Get through that short dark day with a nice long book. (I like long books myself. If I am invested enough to read it, I don’t want it to be over in a flash. If I like the characters, I want to get involved and spend time with them. If you prefer shorter books, heads up: The paperback is 436 pages.) The e-book edition of The Calling, the first book in the Mae Martin Psychic Mystery series, is on sale for $4.99 (normally $6.99) through Jan.4.

This genre-blending series brings in elements of suspense, mystery, paranormal and the general fiction novel, and will appeal to readers who may not normally go into some of those genres as well as those who do. The paranormal elements are integrated into a real-life Southern novel. Skeptics may enjoy the idea of a paranormal novel with a citations section at the back. People who don’t ordinarily read mystery or suspense might be intrigued that the mysteries in this series are not murder, but secrets. Get wrapped up in the character driven plots, the deep and complex relationships, the setting and the mysterious kind of mystery. This is the first in a series, more to come in 2014.

Luvelle Raevan | 1 comments Hi - when I wrote Star Water, Book One and Two my idea was newest new age YA paranormal romance. Book One - Sweet Sorcerer is available to read free at Swoon Reads, a new imprint of Macmillan publishers, one of the big houses. However, my Sweet Sorcerer is off to a slow start because the site is new and promotional techniques are just starting out.

I really would appreciate people having a look at Star Water - Sweet Sorcerer and rating it because the theme of magic and science intertwined is very new age, the story is about love and most of all I really really want to help animals, people and environment...but I admit...the book is not high profile at Swoonreads.com and I need ratings by you, readers, to boost it, please! Time is running out for this manuscript to be at the site!

I hope I have too much integrity to criticize some other books at Swoonreads but some are not very good at all to anyone who has a literary background and those books are receiving high ratings due to authors' students, friends, relatives. Already one author has been banned because the ratings were questionably high...and fake as it turns out. This is bad because the end result of best rated book is a publishing contract and advance of $15,000 from Macmillan. I just want to see a worthy piece of original literature win for the right reasons. At this point, I don't see me having a snowball's chance in Hell...but I can see the cauldron of Sweet Sorcerer simmering - and coming to a boil with a lot of readers' help!

So...if you want to see an original, new concept important book have a chance in today's market, please check Sweet Sorcerer at Swoonreads.com for free. Registering is so easy, and the community with blogs etc is a good place for authors to meet as Macmillan is the host, and exposure is certain! Thanks. I won't forget those who help me out!Sweet Sorcerer

It all started when I unexpectedly heard the voice of an elderly, Southern, African-American woman who began to tell me the story of her teenage years and the wisdom she learned. It's been a 10 year journey that led to my own spiritual awakening and changed everything I became. She was an amazing guide. Now, Trusting the Currents is out! I'm receiving great reviews so far. Marsy Beron (marsy_beron) | 4 comments Hi all!
I can not describe the topic of my book better than Kirkus Review have done it. Here is the review:

"Gestalt psychotherapist Beron, in her debut self-help book, examines the positive and negative impacts of being socially labeled and how such labels shape one’s feelings, thoughts and behavior.
“The power of labels is like an invisible pressure...which intercepts our thoughts and actions, distorts beyond recognition the mirror...and makes us vulnerable to the pain of the past and the fear of the future,” asserts the author in the book’s foreword. Although people may acquire labels at any age, Beron contends that most first appear in childhood and come from such sources as classmates, teachers, parents and friends. She briefly describes the Gestalt theory of psychotherapy, which emphasizes personal responsibility, and uses it as a basis for exploring ways that people may assume positive control over their lives. Beron reminds readers that people may be labeled in direct and indirect ways, with or without cruel intent, due to name-calling, nicknames or comparison to others. What’s important, then, is how people believe such characterizations and how they become a part of their identities. In turn, those conceptions of identity influence people’s thoughts and habits and may deter them from changing their lives. “It doesn't even cross our minds that we can change something within us...it is easier to say: ‘I am like that,’ ” Beron writes. She effectively encourages readers to delve into their pasts to remember the origins of negative labels; she stresses that when children are victims of name-calling, they’re too emotional and immature to question such characterizations and, instead, simply believe them. She also engagingly explores how adults, in subtle and not-so-subtle ways, aren’t immune to family, peer-group and media labels.
A helpful, hopeful and thorough guide that invites readers to change the images in their mirrors."

"The power of labels" is available in Amazon, Barnes&Noble and many other online bookstores.

It changed my perspective from the sorrow of her having to relearn how to walk to the Joy of "look what she can do today - she can move her toe!" In learning how to change my perspective from sorrow to Joy, it changed how I was viewing everything in my life. I am happy to report she is completely healed, and it is my wish to share these Joy Channelings with anyone looking to find the Joy that is underneath everything, and sharing an easy way to connect to it.

It's on a free promotion right now through 10/31/2014 on Amazon.com Kindle Edition. It's an awareness raiser. Best wishes to you.

Pat O'Connor | 13 comments Hello, my name is Pat O'Connor and I've recently published the Secret Visions novel and welcome reviewers. The story focuses on three diverse teenagers (Catholic, Buddhist, Muslim) who want to bring peace by inspiring teenagers to send telepathic images of peace. This is a fast-paced adventure story as the group faces ridicule, opposition and violence from individuals who believe that they are practicing mind control. The action never stops as the trio are threatened, attacked and firebombed.
Please let me know if you're interesting in reviewing this book. It is the first novel in the Annie McDoogan series.

Brendan Lloyd | 1 comments Hi, my book is called Out Of This World, which is my first published book (I'm mostly a writer in other media) and it's based on real spiritual experiences that happened to me in several different years.

It's presented with a French flavour and humour, and is fairly accessible - you don't have to have read any spirituality related books at all to understand it or be familiar with ANY jargon or New Age terminology, and it's a short-ish length book. At the end of the book there are some inspirational messages and a positive vibe.

I'll be interested to hear what readers think of it. It's available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B019JI18YA and also iTunes.

If you enjoy the book, please be kind and spend a few moments to leave a review on Amazon.

Thanks for listening!

Steven Strasnick | 1 comments Meditation's Secret Treasure, Awakening to the Mystic World

Hi,

I’ve just published my first book and am looking for feedback and reviews from people who are interested in the spiritual realms. The book is called “Meditation’s Secret Treasures” and is available for free on Kindle Unlimited:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GGFYKUI

It tells the story of what happened to me when I first started to meditate and experienced a series of visions that lasted well over a year, though the bulk happened in the first three months. Having lived my life as a rationalist, I felt compelled to attempt to understand the meaning of these experiences, as well as the forces in my earlier life that may have led me to this point. The book, which is the first of a series of three, details the unfolding narratives of my visions along with the analytical approach I developed to try and understand them. I draw from many different traditions in my account, including Taoism and related traditions in Eastern philosophy, Western philosophies of panpsychism, spiritual alchemy, shamanism, and Jungian psychology. I would especially like to hear from people with interests and experiences in these various traditions.

I’m new to all of this and would appreciate any suggestions about how to reach the kinds of readers who would enjoy my book. Also, if you have written or know of books that touch on the issues I am working with, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for all your comments.

—steve

Jordan Finneseth (jordanfinneseth) | 5 comments Hello Everyone,

I've recently published my first book - Manual for the Soul: A Beginner's Guide: Awaken to Your Enlightenment in Millennium 2.1. It's a self-help style book from a spiritual perspective endeavor to take the concept of enlightenment and bring it into the modern age and make it something that is more practical and achievable. My main premise is that we have all had all the experiences that we need to be enlightened, we might just lack the right perspective to see it.

You can see the Amazon page at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H67CX2W

If you are interested in reviewing it for me you can contact me here or at Jordan@tribeingmbe.com and I will get it to you in the format of your choice. I am really just looking to get more people to read it, and to get honest feedback.

Thanks for any help and I am willing to return the favor.
