Darius123 Percy Jackson Book 1 reminder

I was reading lightning thief and came accross a interesting quote.

A demigod called Houdini did escape from the depth's of Tartarus.

I ask now how do you guys think he did that.

If someone can twitter Rick and remind him of that. And ask him how you escape tartarus I will be happy.

Gina oh yeah that's right. But then again Nico was able to escape Tartarus as well. Percy and Annabeth won't be the first demigods to do it anyways :P But yeah I would like to know how he was able to do it.

Selena Ibeonder if nico has the blade he would give percy and annabeth the seird so they can return

Kai Wendland guys Nico was lost in time spent very little time at camp and might have never herd of Houdini

Leah Wasn't Houdini alive before he was in the lotus?

Neal Simmons He has already referenced some stuff from the original series, so he is probably well-aware of the Houdini thing.

He has twitter? tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Julia I just read the quote from the first book, but it never says Houdini escaped from Tarturus; it says he escaped from the Underworld and could escape Tarturus:

"Few mortals have ever done this and survived: Orpheus, who had great music skill; Hercules, who had great strength; Houdini, who could escape even the depths of Tartarus."

Yeah, it says he could, but he never actually did.

Sarel Boshoff Remember that the underworld and tartarus are two different things. Tartarus is a prison for monsters and the underworld is where mortals go when they die (Also where Hades lives). If I remember correctly the books refer to Hercules,Orpheus and Houdini escaping from the underworld, never Tartarus. So it will be interesting to see where the story goes from here.

Emanuel Cordova it would be cool if Houdini was the son of that one magic God... i should be a writer man.

I wonder will we meet Tartarus himself. The father of the giants. And tthe strongest of the premordial beings.

Kenneth Washington yes tartarus comes in a smaller form and bob kills himself to save percy and annabeth

Giovanni Othello Kenneth wrote: "yes tartarus comes in a smaller form and bob kills himself to save percy and annabeth"

Remember and i qoute tartarus said "You cant kill me, its like killing the earth..." So bob cant kill tartarus even though hes a titan, he only stalled tartarus for annabeth and percy to escape through the doors...

Houdini was a son of Hermes. It might be an ability that only Hermes' kids have as Hermes is the god of travel.
