l Adrianna opened the door to her room and quickly flopped onto the bed. It was still morning and she'd already had an arguement with somebody.

She hadn't always been this way, all gothic and rebellious. It all started two years ago, when she was sixteen and in love. He was a Three, but always said he didn't care that Adrianna was a Seven and all that mattered was that they were in love and happy. His name was Ryan and he lived near her school, so they would always meet up with each other near there when school was over (Ryan went to a private school where lots of Twos and Threes went).

(Flashback time y'all)
It was raining on an early January afternoon. Adrianna's uncle had lost his job at the factory two weeks earlier, and since her aunt had been injured in a factory accident before Christmas, Adrianna had been the only one bringing home money for the last two weeks and she earned next to nothing. The family was almost starving, and they were going to extreme's to find food to eat.

That afternoon Adrianna had gone to meet Ryan after school in their usual meeting spot, three houses down from Ryan's home. Adrianna had forgotten an umbrella, so she stood on the side of the road, soaking, freezing cold and starving. The last thing she had eaten was half a bowl of breakfast cereal two mornings before.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the trash can out the front of the house she was standing near. They were overflowing, and she could see scraps of food spilling out of the bags inside.

Ryan won't be here for fifteen minutes or so... She thought, then slowly walked over to the trash can. When she started to go through the trash, she found a quarter loaf of stale bread and a handful of vegetable scraps. When she started stuffing things into her backpack, ashe heard a voice behind her.

"Adrianna? What do you think you are doing?" Ryan said, standing completely dry under an umbrella a few metres away.

Adrianna immediately sprung back from her stash and turned to face Ryan, not being able to look him in the eye.
"I-I can explain." She stuttered, "I j-just saw all this wasted f-food in here, and I-"
"And you what?" He interrupted, "You were going to eat that filth? My mother was right about you."
"Your mother? What did you mother say about me?"
"I thought you were different, Adri. I thought that you were different to all the other Sevens out there, who live under bridges, or have the manners of a four year old or eat out of trash cans. But no, you're just like them!" He basically spat at her.
"No, Ryan! You don't understand!" She yelled at him.
"You're all digusting! Absolute scum, all of you."

By this time, Adrianna was sobbing. Ryan probably couldn't tell, as her tears mixed with the rain dripping down her face. She walked up to him and took his face in her hands,
"I'm so sorry, Ryan, I'll never do it again. I promise you. I promise you!" She said through sobs, but he only pushed her off him.
"Get off me! Adrianna, if you ever see me again, do not talk to me." He said, glaring at her. He stormed off.

l She hadn't realised it, but as she had remembered that afternoon with Ryan she had started to cry. Quickly remembering she had eye makeup on, she got up and looked in the bathroom mirror. Black lines were streaking her face, so she cleaned her face of makeup and applied some more, but this time she steered clear of black and went for a softer look. (view spoiler)

She went into her closet and took off her black dress, then put on the most feminine dress she had. (view spoiler)

May as well look like you feel, Adrianna. Like a sensitive, helpless girl. She thought to herself, then went back down to the dining room.

l Adrianna rushed into her room and headed straight for the bathroom. She scrubbed off the makeup she had on and quickly replaced it with her usual black makeup.

When she was done, she sighed with relief. Without her thick, black eyeliner and black lipstick she felt exposed and vulnerable. With this makeup, she felt confident and like she could take charge. She walked out of her room to the outside of the hotel.
