Not for 'smart' ones like you :) I see my other mates who're addicted to texting, and they always type that way.

Well that is because they are addicted and/or not very smart

Perhaps there is only a correlation between lower intelligence and higher amounts of texting. Maybe it is not causation.

I think that the people who send a zillion texts a month will be the people who's grades are affected by texting. The short form of words or what I like to call texting language may make it easier to text but I do not think that the teachers like seeing LOL, OMG, LMAO, JK, etc. in essay papers. And the people who sit around texting for hours straight or textimg the person sitting right next to them are affected negatively by texting because they are sometimes so addicted to it that they can't focus on homework or studies.

Agreed!

Texting might not effect Grades, but I wouldn't think that kids would actually Text while Class is going on. That isn't any good. Besides, wouldn't kids get in trouble for doing that.
Then, changing the subject. TOTALLY off the subject: What about people(anyone)Texting and Driving. That is so dangerous. There have been Deaths for such as that. I say, wait until you can pull on the side of the road or wait until you get to your destination before you Text. A Text can wait, a life(person) can't be replaced. I don't drive, but even if I did I would wait. I don't Text though, but still.
I just say this because I care about people. I have a 18 year old Nephew that has been driving for a while and yes, I worry about him and other people, including Teenagers.
Whatever you guys do, do it safely. This is just a thought(my own). You don't have to agree, it's just common logic. Safety ALWAYS comes first. Be safe, EVERYONE. :-)

Texting isn't affecting my grade… But then again, I text using actual words and never during school.

I think that if you text during your homework it might affect then but otherwise i think it doesn't really affect!!

Some of the kids at my school text all of the time during class. It is kind of annoying really.
