Xena walked into the classroom and slunk over to the corner, starting to organize her thoughts and ready to take notes
Ariadne-Persephone entered the classroom, glanced around and noticed the girl in the corner. "Hey," she said heading over.
"Hello" Xena said shortly, "Who are you?"
"Ariadne-Persephone, but it's a long name, you can call me Ari, or Sephy, I don't mind either," she said smiling, "What about you?"
"Hello Ariadne. I'm Xena. You look familiar, who are your parents again?" Xena said walking around her trying to spot why she looked familiar
Now that Xena had mentioned it, Ariadne noticed something familiar about Xena... Ariadne knew a lot of people but she couldn't quite remember where she knew her from. "Hades and Persephone, what about you?" As she said it she realized why Xena was so familiar.
"Why hello half-sister," Xena said with a barely concealed laugh, "I'm proof of Ares' and Persephone's affair"
Ariadne burst out laughing, not even attempting to hide it. Her mother and father had warned her she might find out she had more siblings than she thought... But she never expected to find out so quickly! "Oh my Gods, hi! I'm sure we must have met before... At some point! Well, sister it's nice to meet you properly, mother did mention having a thing for Ares once..."
"Why this is just weird," Xena said getting her emotions back in control, "But, why should I trust you? You're just a random person who looks familiar," Asked Xena. All she wanted was info on how Adriane would react, but one could never be TOO paranoid.
"I'll give you that, it is pretty weird," Ariadne said noticing the sudden change in Xena. "And, hey, I'm not asking you to trust me, but if you ask me, the whole half-sister thing is a pretty good reason... And if in doubt, we do have a mother who can vouch for me being fairly trustworthy..." She smiled at Xena, not wanting to make her uncomfortable, "...then again, being Princess of the Underworld can make a girl a little sneaky..." Ariadne trailed off as she made herself invisible.
Xena's eyes lit up and started talking. "Invisibility, handy trait to have if you cannot blend in to a situation. You're the type of person who says 'look at me' you need that skill. If you learn to tone it down, you can seem to be a wallflower, nobody cares what you think or what you hear... Yet, if you talk too much you can convince them you're spilling your secrets, thus gaining the upper hand," Xena blinked, "Did I just say that out loud?"
Ariadne made herself visible again, she was sat on a desk nearby, Xena was funny, whether she knew it or not... Maybe the funny gene really was from Persephone... "Yeah," Ariadne giggled, she was in a funny mood today. "And, hey whats the fun in being a wallflower? Most people forget them..." Ariadne's mood sank a little.
"Yet wallflowers hear all and are never seen. They are like taxi drivers in New York. Have you ever been there? People blabber their secrets when they think no one is watching or listening." By this point Xena was gesticulating wildly. She loved talking about this stuff although Ariadne was probably not paying attention
"You do have fair points, and I went there once, Demeter wanted something." Ariadne noticed her half-sister was finally coming out of her shell, and she was right about the wall-flower thing... That was pretty much Ariadne-Persephone when she was spying.
"People, especially gods, want things. Only difference in that aspect is that the gods are more attuned to make people follow," Xena said, "This is a school. Right?" she asked
"Yeah, although the teachers are yet to reveal themselves!" Ariadne-Persephone said glancing around.
"Of course," Xena rolled her eyes, "They strongly suggest going to classes but the teachers cannot come to any of them." Xena changed topic to something that would get Ariadne in less trouble. She didn't really care about herself but for 'sister' she may try to keep her out of it, "How are your parents anyway? I only met Persephone when I was young and then whisked away to NYC," Xena stared at Ariadne, "Are you tricking me?"
Ariadne looked at her sister shocked, she really didn't know their mother, much anyway. "Uhm, they're pretty good thanks... I'm sure Mother would love to see you again!" Ariadne considered that last part. "And that depends on if its working!"
"Is one of your powers making people talk? If so it's working." Xena said staring at Ariadne searching for any hint of lies
"Charm..." Xena said skeptically. She couldn't see any lies but... "Hmph, whatever you say Ariadne," She'll keep an eye on her, best keep your friends close and enemies closer. Although, she didn't know which Ariadne was at this point.
Xena rolled her eyes at Ariadne's naïveté. Of course SHE can be so trusting and ignorant of people's intentions.
"So, Xena, what made you want to come to Olympus Prep?" Ariadne said, trying to find out more about her sister.
"Avoidance of people trying to kill me," Xena said dryly.
Ariadne laughed, "Good reason." Xena had a type of sarcastic humour that kind of reminded Ariadne of someone that she used to know up here... Ariadne's laughing ceased. "I might go visit the Elysian Fields..." Ariadne-Persephone whispered, thinking aloud.
"Elysian Fields," Xena muttered trying to place that extremely familiar name, "Oh, why would you want to go there?" Xena asked trying to get more information
"To visit a friend..." Ariadne said, glad she could go to and from the Underworld with ease. "And yep, Elysian Fields, you know of them right?"
"Of course I know OF them. I did go to mortal school for a few years before he died," Xena said looking down at the end in mourning.
"They're pretty cool! And hey, I never got a chance to go to mortal school so I wouldn't know!" Ariadne said, not quite sure what to say about the last part of what Xena had said.
"Mortals train each other in history. Some of it's amusing as they think WE are just part of a nation's imagination and do not exist. You should read some of their 'true' accounts and some 'fictional' ones they are SO funny in their ignorance," Xena said with a fake laugh. Even after two years, James' death still hurt.
"That does sound quite funny, I mean, they think we're imaginary!" Ariadne smiled at Xena. "Hey, are you okay? You seem a little... down."
"My best friend died two years ago by my own fault. I should have realized that it was a trap. I had the greatest tacticians on call and yet I still missed it," Xena said bitterly
Ariadne's face fell, "Well... then he's probably in the Underworld, so, you know... He's not... gone." Ariadne wasn't the best when it came to comforting people.
Xena's eyes lit up. She never thought of it that way. "Ariadne, would it be against any laws or rules, morals breeched, ethic violated, or anything, if I go visit him sometime?" Xena asked. Depending on if anything was broken, and if so which ones, she may be able to see her mother, uncle/half/stepfather, and best friend during the same visit.
Ariadne looked at her half-sister, who finally looked really happy. "Uhm, probably... But being Princess of the Underworld has its perks; I could probably arrange something..."
Xena gave a huge smile, yes yes yes, this is a good day. "THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!" Xena shouted and gave Ariadne a hug.
Ariadne hugged Xena back, but couldn't help feeling a little shocked... Xena had came out of her shell. A lot. "You're welcome." She was still too shocked about Xena shouting to say much.
Xena laughed at Ariadne's shocked expression. Yeah this rarely happened but... SHE JUST GOT HER FRIEND HALF BACK. Xena let go and took a few deep breaths. Breathe in. Breathe Out. She suddenly sobered up. What if he hated her for getting him killed? "So..." Xena started unsure of what to say after that little... Outburst
"Apparently not. Maybe it's not 'interesting' enough. What other classes are you taking?" Xena asked trying to get her mind off of possibilities
"Maybe, and all of them! They all sounded interesting, plus Hades wanted me to get a proper education." Ariadne laughed, looking back on her conversation with her father. "What about you?"
"Mythology, obviously, Theifology, and Weaponology. Most girls annoy me so Hunters and Beautyology are out. In addition, Beautyology is about fashion. Ewwwww. And I don't think I can stand the fangirling in music. Monsterology just doesn't interest me" Xena explained
"Thanks," Xena said, "Have you any guesses why the teachers aren't here yet?"
"Hmph. Do you know what else this place has? I mean, we can probably socialize somewhere other than this empty classroom," Xena thought out loud
"Forest, lake and courtyard." Ariadne rolls her eyes. "I guess the courtyard could be... okay..." Ariadne pictured the forest and lake and shuddered. "But forest and lake? So nature-y its gross!"
"The forest I can see not wanting to go to, but the lake? Ohhhh wait I see reasons for not wanting to go there. To the Courtyard it is!" Xena exclaimed dragging Ariadne
