Should you read Divergent before Insurgent?What about Gillian Flynn's "Gone Girl"?
I think you should read Divergent first. Gone Girl sounds good too!
I would like to suggest this one by Neal Schusterman. The blurb is good. About Insurgent, I wont mind rereading about Four and Tris. :)
I second The Host and Yes you must read Divergent before Insurgent (both are amazing IMO) lol

The Host is fantastic, but not very wintery for December ;~)
Also Christopher Moore's book The Stupidest Angel is really good. And about Christmas:)
