Lily seemed to have a conflicted relationship with her father. How was their relationship conflicted, and how did it affect her as she grew up?

Obviously I didn't know the rest of the story when we answered these questions earlier. Now after being in the middle of Glass Castle, I definitely can see the conflict she has with her own father. Stringing him up the flagpole is too nice right now. I'm not done, perhaps this will change.
