I am excited to say that I am entering the world of eReaders...I have recently ordered the new Kindle Paperwhite. It doesn't have the largest screen, but I like the other ammenities that it has; such as changing the font style and size, the new LED lighting, and I don't want it for anything but to read on, so I don't need the Fire. My only concern is what happens if I use up all the memory???

i think you can get ansd card, which you can also get for the kk (kindole keyboard) but how many ppl would put that many books on an ereader? the kindle can hold 1500 books without an sd card, i believe.
I learned something today that is absolutely phenomenal as far as my extensive kindle book collection goes (almost 9,000 free books) I know, I know how do you spell OCD.Anyway I have been totally frustrated by going to manage your kindle and having to click through one page after another.
By going here instead https://kindle.amazon.com/your_reading
you can sort by title or author. Then I clicked to the start of each letter in the alphabet and sent myself an email with those links. Something like this.
https://kindle.amazon.com/your_readin... E
https://kindle.amazon.com/your_readin... F
https://kindle.amazon.com/your_readin... G
Why is this important - well I am in some challenges that require spelling out a word. Now if I need a book that starts with G Voila I can click right to it.
If you don't have a kindle this is meaningless but if you do it is stupendous!
Sheila;
I am new to Kindle, but not the eReader world. I also have a NOOK (the very 1st one - I don't like clicking through the pages, but I still have books there that are yet to be read). At any rate, I am still learning what I can do with the Kindle (Paperwhite), but what you are doing is unbelievable! I welcome any further tips and tricks you may have up that sleeve of yours! ~ Valerie

I love my kindles Valerie. My kids got me my first keyboard kindle for my 60th birthday. Since then I have acquired a fire and now a Kindle Fire HD. My biggest frustration is the inability to really see what I have. I think as "together" as Amazon appears to be that they could provide a better style database for its cloud. The site I shared above is the best that I have come up with so far.

Thanks for the information; it is extremely helpful! Especially the Calibre info....will check that out and will have to find out what "side loading" is...does this mean I can put my books on a thumb-drive or on a hard-drive, etc? At any rate, thank you bunches!

There's also a simple plug-in for Calibre that allows you to create 'collections' on the Kindle, which is fantastic. I love my kindle, but the search function is pretty horrible...Calibre makes it a much more enjoyable reading experience. I also like browsing through calibre to look at covers, metadata etc.
Just a thought; what about the Kindle Cloud on the Chromebook? Does that work the same way as the Calibre? I have a chromebook...just wondering. Let me know.
Thanks,
~ Valerie
Thanks,

I just bought my sister's old black and white Kindle, to use in the kitchen, for $25.00 . I loaded all of my cookbooks onto it, but I am still keeping them on my Kindle Fire HD so I can see the pictures in color. This will keep 'My Precious' away from the mess of cooking. Does anyone know if they sell transparent protective sleeves for the old b&ws?
