Yes we are doing sections one week at a time. Last week posted thru chapter 18. Not sure if I'm ahead or what. Maybe I'm just confused.

Yes, you posted Chapters 8-11 on 10/27, Chapters 12-18 on 11/1, and then this today.
But that's okay - we'll catch up! I just thought I was missing something.
I want to thank you all - I've never managed to finish a Byatt novel and take care to avoid them. This challenge was too tempting & I've loved it. Finished the book a few days ago & am now tempted to reread EH Nesbitt. The extra info you've added on this site has made the whole experience very rewarding. AND I've overcome my luddite tendancies and have posted a comment! Now to find another book to read along with.

Go Jacqui Go. Stop being a lurker. You definitely have things to contribute and that we would love to hear (or is that see?).

These reviews of Byatt's book are worth reading but may contain spoilers. It is worth remembering that Byatt, who is quite right wing, did not approve of the Bloomsbury group and puts forward a rather cynical view of their bohemian lives through this novel.http://www.theguardian.com/books/2009...

Here is an article by Gore Vidal about E Nesbit upon whom the character of Olive Wellwood was based:-

And two articles about Eric Gill upon whom the character of Benedict Fludd is based:-

(Didn't RR discuss this novel last year??)
