NaNoWriMo Support Group discussion

Some of you might not know what nanowrimo is! So I am here to tell you! It is short for National Novel Writing Month! In this month you write a novel (or try). No you don't have to write an actual entire novel that is edited and everything. Just the draft! This takes place every November each year and thousands of people join in on the fun of writing! There is even a website for it. It is amazing so go check it out!

The truth is that I already have a big project I'm working on that I hope to finally finish next year. But if I can do anything at all to help somebody else in their writing journey--that would make me happy.

My project--if it's okay if I talk about it--is a book of poems about women of the Hebrew Bible. It's told from their perspective. For instance, there is a poem for each of Jacob's four wives (he has two concubines-- Zilpah and Bilhah--who don't get much press). However, my book covers the whole Bible. The thing is, I've written the rough draft and now I am editing and adding (and occasionally subtracting) from it.

good job for finishing the draft!!! I can't wait to hear more about it!

Its a lot of fun if you get into it with others in your area, and do a few write-ins or do the whole over night thing. Dangerous Writers: Night of Writing Dangerously.

Victoria--thank you. The truth is--I hope this doesn't sound immodest-- it took years of work and sometimes I took a break from it for other things. Say--If you could give me an e-mail would you like to look at my first poems from Genesis? It's a fragment of the book but I have each individual poem on a different document at the moment.

I would love to! I'll send it right away!

I first learned of NaNoWriMo, from her. She wrote The Queen of Water, along with Maria Virginia Farinango, The Indigo Notebook, The Ruby Notebook, The Jade Notebook & What the Moon Saw, all of which I have read.

And two more, which I have NOT Read, yet:: Red Glass & Star in the Forest.
