Yeah, I applied a few days ago but still no response. I gave in and put the links in the descriptions. Must be extra annoying if you're an author and it's your own stuff you need to edit.

Sonny has a pet librarian. Me. Refresh my memory, dude, how did that happen again?
Keep bitching at people about the librarian thing, message moderators etc. It took a while to get anyone's attention when I applied.

Where do I bitch at people? In a forum or do I message someone?

IIRC I went to the goodreads feedback group and started messaging moderators. Also, I had Moss harass someone in the goodreads librarians group as well.
I'm not sure I'm very good at harassment! Problem, problem.
Okay things:

Just move the links to the proper places if you don't mind. Thanks :)

Your first book is a webcomic that has no published volumes. Goodreads doesn't want those in the database. I know, because people have bitched at me for adding webcomis. We can just play dumb and leave it up and hope they don't see it. I'm just saying, don't be surprised if it vanishes one day.
Thanks!
They are by him, he just goes by various different usernames in different places.
If goodreads doesn't want unpublished webcomics, what about online fiction? Seems like it's essentially the same deal. Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if they felt the same way about those, but if they do I hope they don't go so far as to try and crack down on it. There's some great unpublished stuff.

Yeah, I've seen some fanfic too.
Oh, and Marleen, the real name of the artist who does Metanoia is Sarah Cloutier. I forgot to put that in.

Eh. I AM missing something. Chartreuse and Jumping Jack Flash are both pseudonyms for Jesse Hajicek? Should we list them under the pseudonyms or not?
Yes, they've taken webcomics down: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
I added Minor Acts of Heroism back in since they're 'published', but Tripping Over You has been removed. There is a list in the Freeloaders that has potential removals listed:

Hmm... hard to say whether to include pseudonyms, and if yes which. Probably not Chartreuse, because that's only really associated with Metanoia and it's not something he goes by anymore. Maybe JumpingJackFlash? He uses that for both Fictionpress and I think AO3, so more people might know his screen name than his real name in certain places.
Hopefully Metanoia manages to fly under their radar.

A lot of people on goodreads really don't like the online fiction being added, but the official rule is you can add it, unless it's a WIP. Then you can't. As you can see in the discussion I linked above I really, really don't agree, but I don't make the rules.
BTW, the Freeloaders group I mentioned is collecting all free m/m publications. We have separate threads for fanfiction and webcomics and wips that aren't allowed in the database. Plus 300+ online books that are in the database. Anyone can add books. Join us!

I'll just go ahead and leave the pseudonyms I put in. But feel free to go back in and change it back if you want to.

You don't make the rules, you just quietly don't enforce them :)
One of Jesse's books is published under his real name, so there's definitely no issue there. Rah also goes by a variety of usernames on other sites, but I think that's just because that's what's done on most websites. Her real name is listed on her Deviantart.

I think it would be best to have the author under his actual name, because then it will be listed with his other projects.

That's right. :P And I break them whenever I think no one will notice. I happen to love WIPs. And webcomics.
Sonny wrote: "Wait, so technically since Fade is a WIP it can be taken off?"
Yes, it can. They are going to need a super-librarian to do it, because so many people have linked to it, but they can take it down. Of course, I would put it right back up and play dumb until you and Ais finish it.

Alright, I'll fix that then. Just don't be surprised if someone else 'fixes' it back some day.
Now you need to join the Freeloaders too, Potatoe. I've only read Snowfall so I wouldn't know how to shelf the other books you added.
I shall guard it fiercely.
And okay I'll join the group. Is "Marleen told me to" a good reason for joining? Too late if it's not.

Is admitting that something is a wip by putting it on the wip shelf in this group asking for trouble?
Okay, so, what's your definition of 'fantasy' within the group? Are m/m webcomics classed as 'slash'? Actually that shelf is really sparsely populated, why is that?

We haven't had any problems with it yet. We're a private group and the people who have problems with wips are seemingly not interested in joining a group about free homo books. Probably because they don't consider free online books real books either and want nothing to do with us.
Sonny: I am. I already added you.
Also, if it's a series with completed books and wip books, do I put wip? Also do I add the whole series or just the first book in the series?

i contribute so much to all conversations."
It's a good thing you're pretty. And that you write porn.
Potatoe: People put stuff where they want. If you don't agree, you are free to add the shelves you like. So someone added a Slash shelf at some point, but I personally don't put anything on it because I figure it's all slash. But maybe that someone had a different definition?
Me, I put stuff on the fantasy shelf when it reminds me of all the fantasy books I've read, but then with more gay sex. Of course, elves are a dead ringer for the fantasy shelf too. Most alternate history books end up there too.
If the completed books of an ongoing series are separate database entries, then those are not wips. Like Evenfall and Daron's Guitar Chronicles 1-3. Fade, OTOH, is a wip. If there is a database entry for the unfinished part, you can shelf that as a wip. If there isn't, there is a WIP thread in the Discussions that you can add unlisted WIPs in.
Ahh, okay, so it's alright to play it by feel? On the LJ group this group is based on we have a fuckton of rigid classification rules, so I'm used to a lot of structure. Leaves me floundering when things are freer.
Anyway, I've added some stuff that I liked a lot. Might add some more stuff. It's a good group :)

Haha, no thanks, I'm not even classification police on my own community. I just went back and removed everything I'd added to the slash shelf. I had this sudden dawning horror when I realised that it was just like when people used to tag stuff with 'slash' and 'gay' on our comm. NO THAT'S WHAT THE COMMUNITY IS FOR WHY.
EDIT: Oh, and yes, that's actually what I thought when I started our LJ comm. I thought it'd pretty much just be me, but then... it wasn't.

Marleen, could you do me another librarian favour please?
This webcomic: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15...
It's an abandoned webcomic so it really shouldn't be on here in so many ways but that's not the point! The point is whoever added it did a poor job of it and it makes me sad.
Actual description:
A constable and a doctor meet one typical January night... and in the midst of murders and conspiracies, they form a bond that leads to things both wondrous and terrible.
And all my webcomic bookshelves would look way prettier if this was added for the cover: http://www.smackjeeves.com/images/upl...
Thank you :) Sorry to ask when it's not even something I added, but it's been bothering me. Odd one out :(

Free PDF seems almost like it should be cheating! But I'm glad it'll be safe from deletion. Thanks for your help :)
