2.) What I have learned about my book is not to judge people so quickly, because you don't know what problems they are facing currently. My opinion has also not changed about the topic.
Samantha, thank you for joining the discussion. You make a great point about never really knowing what someone is going through. I always go by the rule that most people are probably going through way more than they let anyone else realize.
You write that your opinion on the topic has not changed; what opinion are you referring to, on what topic? Please explain.

2.) I have learned that I shouldn't judge a person until I know a lot about them. They could have lots of problems they don't know how to deal with and by judging could just make it worse. My opinon hasn't changed about the book

2.)I have learned to watch what I say and act around people because you do not know what really can "hurt" a person. My opinion has not changed because i have always thought bullying was wrong.

2.) I have learned that the severity of teen drinking, and doing drugs is very high. I have also learned that everyone has a side no one has ever seen before. Also sometimes someone just needs someone to be with to change their whole outlook on life. My opinion has not really changed on the topic of bullying. It is bad, and no one deserves to be bullied. Cliques are very apparent in any school with teenagers in it and it is an issue because people do not realize how it affects others. To be branded as "prep" or "techie" or any other brand isn't a good feeling. People are just people, they do not deserve to be branded.

Sara, I love this quote! This is the essence of the project. What you point out about not knowing what others are going through is a very key lesson in life. You just never know. That's why it is so important to treat each other with kindness always.

Sydney, this is very important! When we judge our peers - and sometimes our friends - we never know how they are going to feel. They may say they are OK or laugh back, but inside they may be sad or hurt.

2.) I learned that in reality, the problems arisen from drinking and drugs is more severe than it seems in the movies. My opinion has indeed changed bitween the time of me starting and finishing the book.
Rather than a "BookTalk" in front of the class, please discuss your books here.
Some discussion topics include:
1. Are the characters in your book realistic and if so how? Can you relate to them or do they remind you of teens you know? Would you be friends with any of the characters in your book? Explain. NO REAL names mentioned in responses.
2. What have you learned from your book or has your opinion about the topic changed from reading this book?
See where the discussion takes you. Stay on topic, but feel free to have an organic discussion about the book. Read the other discussions on GoodReads for ideas about what else to discuss.
