I am Auroni, physician by profession, don't want to read,just a fakibaz, but I have to study more for my profession

I'm in my mid 20s, and I work as a freelance IT consultant. I used to read all type of books in my childhood and teenage years, but now I only read non-fiction books, specially technology related ones.

I don't read much Bengali books except for Humayun Ahmed's ones, which I buy every year from Ekushey book fair.

Just joined cpl of minutes back. About paulo coelho.....I read the alchemist with much anticipation of something betwn surrealism and mysticism...but alas!..I thought it is a very shallow book...may be good for the westerners who lack spirituality but not for us (i mean bangladeshis who are full of spirtualizm). i thought i have spoiled my time n money on this book.

Oh by the way...I am a male/35 working in a bank..love to read and travel and meet new ppl all around the world.

I love to read stories other than sci-fis. Basically i used to read Humayun Ahmed, but he is going through a writer's block (i think)(hope i didn't offend anyone) I like to read about real life experiences too.

Fantasy to me is intellectually stimulating! Aumee you have to got to start reading the Twilight saga by Stephanie Meyers... I promise you that you will love it! I am soo excited for the fourth book (Breaking Dawn) to come out on August 2nd.... Stephanie will be coming to NYC with a band called Blue October in a special concert and book signing program. I am super excited and counting down the days until I get to meet her! But, definitely get started on reading the Twilight saga.

i dont know how aumee interprete fantasy. but i think there is a semiological value in interpreting history. there is a certain reality in fantasy, cos, we cant live without it, even if we think from the perspective of freud.

I guess everyone has their preference for a particular genre they tend to favor more. Ajanta I was looking at your list of books and I see several books that fall under the genre fantasy... so in a way you are a fan of fantasy; It just seems as though you have not completely admitted that to yourself...hehe

Almost all great classical literature has a protagonist dreaming of a fantasy world...Fantasy is every where! To me fantasy is that hope and dream that drives a book forward both for the plot of the story and also for the readers...at least that’s how I see it

Hey, this is Sababa..
I am one of those people who literally carry a book with me wherever I go. My parents long ago resigned trying to make me behave like a normal teenager. So every year that passes leaves me a little more "weird" i guess. Reading started out as a hobby for me but somewhere it became a parallel reality for me. It is my recluse, my private getaway. Mostly I read romance novels, but I am open to other genres as well. Unfortunately I am not familiar with a lot of Bangla novels. I mostly read Himu's stories by Humayun Ahmed. But I guess I wouldn't mind trying other authors once I am back in Bangladesh.
I am giddy to find a reader's group of Bangladesh and I am glad to be a part of this growing group! :D

Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. One of the best books I have ever read! I'd even go so far as to say it's better than the original.
