E.J. Mellow | 25 comments I always think about this after I read a new fantasy or paranormal series and thought I'd open up a discussion about it:)

If you were to live in one world from any book (fantasy/paranormal and the like), which would it be? And would you be a specific character or just yourself in that world?

It's a tough one I know! So I'll get the ball rolling.

Besides the obvious one being Harry Potter (because who wouldn't want to live in Hogwarts!). I think I would have an awesome time being Evie in the Premonition series. Learning you're the highest ranked angel and have wicked red wings...sounds pretty cool. She's also has some beautiful men to surround herself with and I really dig the thought of having a soul mate through all of time (as corny as that seems). And I like the idea of all these ancient races living in secret among us.

So yeah, I think that would be mine. (at least for now ;) ).

Julia | 432 comments I want to live in Charles de Lint's Newford, where magic and despair and hope and homelessness exist alongside each other. I want to hang out with Jilly, Sophie, Wendy and the Crow Girls.

Some of the books in this series, just in case you are unaware of Newford are: The Blue Girl (Newford, #15) by Charles de Lint , Someplace to Be Flying (Newford, #8) by Charles de Lint , Memory & Dream (Newford Book 5) by Charles de Lint and Moonlight and Vines (Newford, #9) by Charles de Lint to name a few.

Michelle Kobus (michellekobus) I would want to live in Middle-Earth, from Lord of the Rings. I'm not sure which race I would want to belong to though. Hobbits enjoy the good life in the Shire, Wizards have powers, & Elves are the most beautiful and immortal. Yeah, if I could choose, I probably wouldn't be human LOL.

I totally want to live in Middle-Earth too! My husband loves to tease me about it because I mention every time I visit the Shire when playing Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO). He reminds me that it's a world that's ending and not a particularily nice place, but I don't care. Someday, I'll visit the Shire they built for the movies in New Zealand. True love!

J. Smith | 1 comments Might there be two answers to any of those choices?

If you were a mighty hero/heroine then just about any world would be fun. If a peasant or a hobbit foot soldier then any and all could be terribly frightening - and short.

Robert E Howard's Hyborian Age books would be entertaining, enough magic to make things interesting and plenty creepy.

Honestly I know that a lot of people probably will have this answer, but I love the Harry Potter universe!! I think it would be so fun to go to school there.

Imran Siddiq (imransiddiqwriter) | 10 comments Middle Earth wins for me every time, but I wouldn't mind a bit of Oz as well.

message 9: by Katie (new)

Katie My number one choice would have to be Narnia, hands down :) My next choices would be Hogwarts (of course!) and then Samaria from Sharon Shinn's Archangel series (I would be an angel...or maybe an Edori...)

message 10: by -RininTa- (last edited Feb 09, 2013 12:40AM) (new)

-RininTa- (rinz) I would choose to live in dystopian world (Divergent, The Hunger Games, etc..). I feel like their worlds aren't so-so, full of adventures, and challenges.
I don't mind to leave in fairytale worlds (Narnia, Iron Fey Series, Alice in Wonderland, etc...) I love to see all the unique creatures and colorful sceneries. It would be fun to live in those twos world for me anyway :D

message 11: by Sarah (new)

Sarah O'Neill (sarahoneill) An awesome world to live in?
Well, what comes to mind is, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Tomorow when the war began, Narnia and Alice in Wonderland.
If I would have to choose, I would say Narnia, it's a very exciting land for me, then I would pick something like; Tomorow when the war began, Harry Potter, Hunger Games and Alice in Wonderland.
As much as the Hunger Games is amazing, it would be a scary world to live in.
:P
