Icarrione is the capital of Kanavelle, the kingdom of golden-grass plains, vermilion forests, and foaming white rivers. There is no green in Kanavelle unless it is brought over the border, and very little blue.
The city’s sandstone walls cradle a sizeable number of seemingly erratically placed structures constructed from clay and thatch, and beyond those sheltering walls lie numerous farms and farmlands. A great tree, called the Sylcire Tree, stands in the center of the city, its ochre branches offering shade for the wide, open town center. There seems to be more mass to the dusty ginger roads than to the small, compact buildings lining them, and no gardens or fountains attempt to decorate the empty spaces everywhere; the only plants are little scarlet flowers that grow in haphazard patches across the city. A large well is positioned just beyond the jutting roots of the Sylcire Tree, filled with once-pure water that has a tendency to collect the rusty orange dust from the roads.
