Yazid (Ciel) (plue) In the first novel (which is the only one we are going to discuss here) the country is divided into 4 factions which are Dauntless (bravery/fearless), Amity (peace-loving), Erudite (the smarts) and Abnegation (the selfless).

My question are:

1) How would the 4 factions could make a country better than other concept such as democracy, feudalism, etc?

2) Does the corrupted nature of the 4 factions could be solved with the help of non-faction citizens?

3) Does Tris resembles the best solution to answer the dilemma faced in this country?

Feel free to debate. Healthy debate. It's okay to make it a little hotter, but not until it can burn someone.

Charleen | 46 comments Hey I think you missed Candor, the fifth faction. Just thought I'd let you know.

Lynn (papergalaxies) The factions could make it better because everyone could be in the group that best serves their interest and needs, everyone in that faction would see the concern behind your reasoning, but this would also constrict common well being, it would dis entwine human nature
