I thought Ready Player One by Ernest Cline and For The Win by Cory Doctorow were really good. I think they'd both be considered YA (there are a lot of dystopian YA books) and both books are built around a future where online gaming rules the world.
If I knew how to paste a link to my reviews, I would. Instead you'll just be stuck with links to the books and hopefully seeing my review won't be difficult. They all got 5 stars from me. And they all have romance sides to them. Divergent has a fairly familiar feel to Hunger Games to me, but it is different enough to be cool.
<---- Really awesome!
It's easy to paste links to your reviews. Go to the "view" of your review and copy the URL in the window of your browser. Return here and paste it in your message. Goodreads will automatically hyperlink it.
The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking #1) by Patrick Ness The Ask and the Answer (Chaos Walking #2)
Monsters of Men (Chaos Walking #3)
Here are my reviews for the Chaos Walking Trilogy, which I really liked. Just a note, reviews for books 2 and 3 contain spoilers.
