(Rory walks in)Volts looks over at me and i smirk back. Not clever really, but she hates me anyway. She knows there's something different about me im sure of it. Volts glares at me and says in that annoying sharp voice most older Fae have 'Wild, you should have been here 5 minutes ago' I resist the urge to roll my eyes, i say 'why, what happened?' i look around the room madly pretending to figure out what "happened". Mistake number one. Two really if you count being 3 minutes late, i could correct her but i know my last comment just landed me in a world of crap as it is. Volts looks like she wants to smash my face into the ground, but she doesnt, and trust me its not because she isnt alowed to or out of strong will power either. 'Just come in and shut up Wild' she says through gritted teeth. I nod and go to stand with the rest of the students.
Spencer Layne looked up from her idea book. It was only Rory and Regina babbling about. Rory said something particularly idiotic, and she had to resist the urge to roll her eyes. Combat was one of the easiest classes, so Spencer just wanted to get it over with.
"Alright," Regina started, "everyone grab a partner for hand-to-hand practice!" Spencer groaned inwardly. She didn't have anyone in this class.
I smile slightly, this class may be easy but its a good way to burn through some frustration and lately i have a lot to waste.
Volts says something about partnering up. All i can hope was that i wont end up with a full Fae. Most of them do my head in.
I look and see my friend Caspian, but he gets pulled away by Lizzie, he smiles apolgetically at me. Most people avoid me because im...different, i guess they sense it too, and because im trouble, always have been. Hell if im going to live the quiet type of life, what would be the point in that. But this place has a lot of rules, and i just cant help but break them.
Ok the full fae arent that bad, some of them are pretty amazing actually but some of them are so superior that it makes me want to hit something. Mainly, THEM! Everyone is partnered up except...damn it.
Spencer's eyes lock with the only available partner: Rory Wild. Brilliant, she thinks as she strolls over to her.
(ok, not a student though, how abot i use Damien, he already left the "School", so what if he comes in to help train some of the half/full fae, is that ok?)
(yeah he's 20, he's a really good fighter, he's high ranking in the Fae "army", and is just helping out whist he is visiting his 16 year old brother)
Damn! Damn! Damn!, anyone but Spencer, that girls head is so far up her own arse that she can probably see her own lack of heart. Rory clenches her jaw and goes over to Spencer.
Just Halle wrote: "(( Okay, that works! I used guy names for my girls: Spencer and Ryan. Is that too weird? ))"(Nah, i like it. My favourite boy/girl name is Alex i think. I do the same with Rory)
They meet halfway, and Spencer tries to at least attempt to be civil. "Hey, Rory!" she says brightly, inserting a bit of sparkle into her eyes.
The happiness is so fake that Rory almost laughs in her face. But Rory isnt a complete bitch so she says 'yeah, hi' it comes out almost deadpan, but there is no way Rory is going to do that 'sparkle' thing, its on the same level as flipping your hair around.
Spencer deflates a bit. She has no idea how to deal with the people who don't try. "Um, okay, so combat?" she asks.
Rory can see that Spencer is trying so she smiles at her genuinely, 'yeah ok lets go over to that mat by the door and hope that Volts doesnt kill me by the end of the session' Rory turns to walk over to the mat.
Spencer laughs for real, which surprises her. They position themselves on the mats, and wait for Regina's mark.
Rory is even more suprised that Spencer has a sense of humaour than anything else. Rory looks over at Spencer and readies herself. Volts shouts 'fight!'
Spencer dodges the first blow with ease, praising Jesus she's fast, because Rory has a punch like a freight train.
Rory easily avoids Spencer's hits, and using her quick movements she swiftly gets Spencer in the stomach, as the girl doubles over slighty Rory kicks her legs out from under her so she falls to the mat. Before she can recover Rory grabs Spencer's arm and twists it behind her back, she then leans her knee on Spencer's back as well and pushes her to the ground. She holds it for a few seconds then moves away, signalling that she's won. Volts shouts over 'Wild, this is combat, we use skill not like your idiotic movements' Oh that bloody woman thinks Rory, as Volts turns Rory puts up her middle finger to her back, she's do it to her face but then all she's get would be a good mental thrashing by their head master Fae, and he was a real arsehole.
Spencer swipes her blonde bangs from her eyes, infuriated. "You're on, Wild," she says and leaps at the girl as soon as Regina calls it. She slams Rory's nose with her elbow and hooks their feet. With a tug of Spencer's foot, Rory goes down. In an act of revenge, Spencer grabs her arms and twists them, immobilizing Rory. Then she steps back and smiles. "No hard feelings?" she checks.
Rory smirks and twists so that she catches Spencer's legs between hers and pulls her down, then Rory slams into the girl and pins her to the mat, Rory uses only some of her real strength but Spencer still cant get up, Rory's strength and speed is unatural even for a half Fae, just one more thing thats different about her. Rory smirks again and says 'no, there are no hard feelings, no gloating on the battle field you know you die that way' she still holds her down.
Regina yells, "Rory, wait for my mark! Spencer one it, and you didn't wait!" Spencer's eyes flared, and she used her element. You weren't supposed to, but she was angry. The air pressure tripled around Rory, but not enough to crush her. Just enough to really hurt.
Rory grits her teeth at the pain, she knows she isnt meant too but fury rushes inside of her, she jumps off of Spencer and pushes back the fire so that it rebounds into Volts, the girl falls to the floor screaming in agony and Rory clenches her fists tightly. Red flashes in her eyes and she can tell her blue eyes must be glowing with waves of gold. 'that is stupid, on the battle field there is no mark'
Spencer cuts another glare at Rory before hurrying over to Regina. "It's okay," she soothed. She draws water out of the vase and uses it to cover the burns. "Come on," she mutters softly. And it works. The burns look much better. "Next time," she growled and Rory, "keep other people out of it. You're a time bomb, ready to explode at any second."
(Spencer has two elements: water and air. Genetic glitch)

(( Okay, then. Spencer just really doesn't like you then. ))
Spencer looks at the frightened students. "Class dismissed," she says calmly. "Just hang out until you're next class, m'kay?" she says, sounding exactly like the student guide she was supposed to be.

Rory can feel herself calming down. Her eyes return to their normal blue and she can no longer feel the power humming though her body. 'Is she alright?' asks Rory. Volts striked first, Rory was only defending herself. She feels no guilt, or at least thats what Rory tells herself. The other students give Rory a wide birth as they file out, they look scared. Myabe they should Rory thinks to herself.
Spencer cut her a killer glare. "I healed most of the burns, so she'll be fine," she said. But her anger was gone, replaced by guilt. "I'm sorry," she admitted.
Rory goes over to her and shakes her head 'nah, its not your fault im a crazy dangerous...whatever the hell i am, Volts and the head have just been waiting for this kind of thing to put me in front of the council so they can lock me down' Rory thinks her about how angry they will all be, they already think she's a killer. This is all the evidence they need.
'again its ok, i could have killed you, would have too, if i didnt dislike Volts at least ten times more' says Rory quirking an eyebrow seriously.
Rory smirks slightly 'i am so royally screwed right now, i "attacked" a full Fae, doesnt matter why, im going down for this' Rory sighs heavily.
Rory laughs 'what society are you living in, oh yeah your a full Fae, you dont get it, im technically a half, so no matter what the full Fae is the victim, plus do you see ME lying on the floor in pain....no you dont, you see Volts, im going to have to fight my way out, thats not going to end well for anybody'
Spencer tilts her head, faking a confused look. "Well, I saw my wind inadvertently blow Volt's fire back on her," she says. "And as a full Fae, my word is pretty well trusted, huh?"
Rory looks suspiciously at Spencer 'you could get in some deep shite by helping me you know, they seriously hate me, and they're right i am dangerious'
Spencer smiles, flashing her single dimple. "Ah, yes, but I'm the golden girl," she says. "You could get into some serious help if they thought we were friends," she says. "I'm a good influence."
'Ok then, just keep all your good influence for the council, im bad and i like it, they dont say my second name suits me for nothing you know' Rory winks at Spencer, just then a few Fae guards come into the room lookin like all Fae guards, violent and stoney faced.
Spencer smiled at them and explains her version of the incident. "So me and Ro are gunna leave now, m'kay?"
To Rory's not so much suprise one of the massive guards, and an extra grumpy one at that, says in a gravelly voice 'No, we have specific orders surrounding this one, Wild is considered dangerous and will be taken to the council, NOW!' Both guards go to take hold of Rory, she moves swiftly out of their grasp and says 'what, evil can't walk now, its one of my epic skills thankyou very much' she crosses her arms defiantely.
Spencer realizes she can't talk them out of it. "Well then of course they told you to bring me too," she says. "As a witness it's obvious I need to go. "The guards nod, not wanting to seem oblivious.
