10.8. Short and Sweet.
Since days get shorter in the winter, read a short book, fewer than 200 pages. NOTE: normal SRC minimum length requirements still apply. An e-book with no paper version will not work for this task.

Dee (austhokie) | 9031 comments i'm assuming for this one that papercopy must exist? or is there a less than word count we could use?

You're correct - since this is a task with specific page requirements, a paper copy must exist.

Kristine (kristinekae) | 251 comments I am assuming the book must be at least 100 pages? So, Even if it is on the GR listopia list it The Importance of Being Earnest would not count?

GR listopia lists are fine for ideas, but they don't override specific SRC guidelines. The task states that normal SRC minimum length requirements apply.

Sue Q | 44 comments I just received a book via mail from a giveaway contest that I might swap in for this challenge:

Frozen Heart by Annabelle Blume

The book (paperback) that I received has 183 pages but it does not have a page count on Goodreads. I was hoping to get approval for this book though since it DOES have a page count on Amazon see here which is slightly higher (it says 190 pages - which still fits for this theme)...

Will this book be okay? (if not - I'll go with another book that I had picked).

The book needs to have a number of pages listed on GR. Perhaps you could check with a librarian about adding the pages - I'm not sure what info they would need to verify this and add the pages.

Sue Q | 44 comments That's okay - it was worth a shot! I have another option but thought I'd try. Thanks for the reply!

Ty | 563 comments So, I have Double Dare by Rhonda Nelson , an ebook published in 2011 at 106 pages.....

However, Amazon showed me this version: Double Dare by Rhonda Nelson , publish by Zebra in 2001 at 176 pages. GR was missing some info, so I added it myself with my powerful librarian skills. So, is this legit for this task?

Thanks!

As long as there's a paperback version, you don't need to get the ebook version approved. And the page number on either version is between 100 and 199, so there's nothing tricky on this one! You're good to go.

Annie I'm wondering if this trilogy would qualify for this task? They are 3 separate books, but the total page count is 142 pp. The pages are a mixture of text, artwork, and envelopes containing correspondence of various lengths - usually double-sided text.

The Griffin & Sabine Trilogy The Griffin & Sabine Trilogy by Nick Bantock

sounds like it would work.

With the heavy picture and comic strip use, this one would have to be combined with others that fit the task and add up to 500 pages, so won't work for this task.

as long as the actual "book" part is over 100 pages and under 200 pages, it's fine. You can ignore the online part for purposes of page determination.
