30.5 - Dlmrose/Cindy F's Task - Author Train!

We did Sassafrass's Title Train in the Fall Challenge, now we are going to do an Author Train version.

You will read 2 books for this task by 2 different authors. The first name of the author of the first book must be found intact in the last name of the author of the second book. You must use first and last names as listed on Goodreads, and middle names cannot be used.

For example: You could read 1 book by
Steven Galloway and a second book by Robert Louis Stevenson
or books by Stephen King and Carol Stephenson
or use Ford Madox Ford and John Stanford

Enjoy!

Keep looking and have fun with it. I have had a hard time deciding myself. I think I decided on a pair that would be good for the series lovers! Jo Nesbo and Iris Johansen

Dee (austhokie) | 9038 comments I found one not long after - using the original series I was thinking of...it was just an ohhh duh moment!

Those look great!

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 855 comments Oh, I was about to ask about a "Jo" first name. So, any author with the last name that starts off "Jo" is acceptable, I see. :)

I've come across a few that I've been considering:

Ashley Gardner and Jennifer Ashley (and they are the same person to boot) -- or another author with the first name "Ashley"

Dee Davis and Cindy Dees

Grace Burrowes and Sable Grace

Kelly Gay and Carla Kelly

They must be different authors so the first one would not work but all the others are fine.

message 19: by Ann A (new)

Ann A (readerann) | 1108 comments At first I thought this would be difficult, but I found several on my TBR:

John Irving/John Grisham/John Le Carré/John Steinbeck/John Pearson/John Grogan and Warren St. John

James Joyce/James Michener and Henry James

Robert B. Parker and Gregory David Roberts (oh, and I just thought of Nora Roberts)

It seems more male names work for first book , doesn't it! Those are all great. Have fun choosing.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 3051 comments Would Patricia McCormick/James Patterson work as well?

Riona (rionafaith) ... and of course as soon as I posted that I found two.

Steven Hall and Robert Louis Stevenson

and

David Mitchell/David Markson/David Foster Wallace and Jenny Davidson

Edit: Oh, and Mark Vonnegut/Mark Dunn/Mark Hodder and David Markson! Now I have options. Hope that helps someone else too.

And your DAvid grouping could use Diane Mott Davidson.

No the whole first name must be found intact in second name, not just part of it.
