I am right there with you Kelley Anne. Honestly, I don't know if I'm going to buy it. I may just put in a request for it at the library because I really didn't like the last one as much as the others.I hope this one isn't as fragmented as the last one, because I might just stop with the series altogether... I'm not all that excited for it, especially since these last two books are so close together. It makes me think she wrote one huge novel and just broke it up into two smaller books.
the newest Nadia Stafford book by Kelley Armstrong is set to come out tomorrow which I think I will buy... :) I'd rather spend my money on that then the Kitty book.
Yes it's the second one. I enjoy the books alot. It's about Nadia who is an assassin, it's not paranormal at all.
I am so willing to risk it I have to believe that the last book was some kind of transition and the next one will be better. BUT I am reading White Witch Black Curse first
Ok I finished Kitty Raises Hell this weekend and if you like Kitty then you will love this book. I love this series so forgive me if I am overly bias anyway Kitty is still growing into the role as alpha and she is determined to do it her way and little Ben can be quite the enforcer if necessary (I knew he had it in him). I would love to talk spoilers but since I am the first to comment I won't give anything away. I like the dynamic between her and Rick – Kitty has to make some tough choices and what is more interesting is that this time these choices not only affect her but her pack as well. While I was not really happy with the last book I mean it was ok just not my usually favorite I think having all of that back story really helps explain this books plot. We also get a little more back story about TJ and that was a really interesting tie in because it did not take away from anything in the book instead it adds something to the series I think. Now for my favorite alpha pair Ben and Kitty are still in love with each other and it seems to get stronger in each book. I really enjoy their relationship because it is realistic to me - they do not always agree nor do they always get a long, and trust is scary but they are committed to each other, they want the best for each other and of course love. I think it is interesting to watch them work things out. I won't say anything more but again if you like Kitty I am sure you will enjoy the book. Happy reading!
Dawn - Thanks for the info! I picked this one up, but haven't started it yet. Partially because I didn't want it to be like the last one and partially because my life has been very hectic! I have loved this entire series, but just was so dissapointed with Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand so I'm glad that this one is good. Hopefully sometime this week I will have time to read it!
Dawn - damn.. so Ben and Kitty are still together. There goes any hope for Cormac, I was secretly hoping she would change her mind lol. I love Cormac. I always take a liking to the bad boys, (I also love the demon Al from the Rachel Morgan series lol!)Anyway, I tried to get this one at the library but it wasn't available yet. I guess I'm going to have to wait a little longer.
Jess Cormac does make an appearance. I liked him I just never liked the fact that he could not look past the werewolf in her. I liked Ben though I think I started liking him in Kitty does to DC - the part where he picks her up and after she changes on tv and then he is talking junk to the vampire when Ben and Cormac try to be the hero. Anyway Al is great I would almost want him for Rachel if only I did not like Trent more.
Personally, I've always wondered if Cormac is just in jail so the author doesn't have to write about conflicts between him and the Ben and Kitty relationship.mini-spoiler alert
One comment that really got me in this book was made about Cormac, regarding the whole box of things they have for him when he gets out. It just struck me as kind of sad, and really made me wonder how he is going to fit into the series. I can't help but wonder if he will ever come back. He was given several years in jail and the past 3 books have covered about 6 months in the timeline of the story.
Liz I might agree with you. I think she may have been intending to put together kitty and cormac and then she stumbled upon the character of ben. Then she just sort of didn't know what to do with cormac. If he comes back.. where would he fit into their lives? how sad :( I love his character and he's so funny and definitely adds depth to the story... but it would cause problems between kitty and ben because kitty knows that Cormac still has a thing for her.
Maybe she will break them up! Go team cormac lol.
LOL at Cormac Team!I think she wanted to create this relationship that was slow to fall in love perhaps to keep herself original you know. In most Fantasy books it is all I saw him and fell in love and we have no issues. Who knows.
I will say that I would not mind seeing Cormac and the girl from Kitty and the Dead Mans Hand she was a hunter. Then they could reek havoc - contract were/vamp killers hanging out at the local were restaurant.
You know, I LOVE Cormac and was pushing for him and Kitty, but I have come to love Ben too. I am glad that she ended up with him. I just think that if she was in a relationship with Cormac, things would be complicated and volatile. I just think that they would have one of those relationships with tons of passion, both good and bad passion! Where Ben is such a good, solid guy! I agree with Dawn about how this is a different relationship from what you usually see in fantasy books. I think that's one f the reasons that I like them together so much. It just seems a bit more like a realistic relationship.
Alright.. I just got this book from the library. They finally got it in! I'll let everyone know what I think of it...I think this will be the deciding book on whether I continue to read the series or not. Hope it doesn't blow.
****SPOILERS****
EDIT - Finished the book. I don't think it was as terrible as the previous one. But I really feel as though the books are on a down turn for the worst. I'm not as captivated as I was with the first 2 or 3. Kitty is beginning to irritate me as a character. I find that she has become one of those "too dumb to live" characters.
Maybe if the author brought back Cormac I would be a little more interested. But I think her plot lines have definitely been suffering the past two books. This one was just stupid. Some evil cult sent a genie after her. Seriously?
Oh and another thing, why all of a sudden is she so important that everyone wants to kill her. I mean really. She's a radio host. All of a sudden this Roman vamp is interested in her. Why? lol. it just doesn't make sense. On the grand scheme of things, Kitty Norville shouldn't rank as being important enough for that bad ass to worry about. I don't know, seems like a flaw in planning.

Has anyone else gotten this one early and started it? If so I would love to know if it's good or not. I have a feeling that I am going to keep putting off reading it until I get some others opinions of it!
