Ultraviolet is a gripping science-fiction novel about a girl named Alison Jeffries. Alison wakes up in a psych hospital not knowing what had happened to her. But as she finds her memories before that day, she confesses to the murder of Tori Beauregard, one of her schools most loved students. As more memories flood back she remembers her and Tori's fight, and it ends with her vaporizing Tori. Her therapists sugests Alison has a rare condition called synesthesia. This means her senses are interconnected; such as tasting words and associating numbers with colors. Alison begins to make new friends and branch out a little, becoming more comfortable with her condition; even if it means her life will never be the same.
I definitely liked this book, it was dramatic, detailed, and very well written. If you put it down you stay wondering about the chapters to come. The reader travels with Alison through her confusing whirlwind of a journey and wonders how this girl can do so much.
