With a certain Mammal in mind, please answer these three clues. What Time period is it from? Carnivore, Herbivore, or both? And what did it look like?

Ex: My mammal is from the Pleistocene period and is a carnivore. With the body build of a large, strong cat. What makes this feline different are it's famous sabers, and it's the largest of its kind.

Ooooh, I am not sure. I would say deodocuris, but they don't roll up in balls.
