If you had to give a character (protagonist, antagonist, secondary) a piece of advice, what would it be and why?

For a “4”: Did I….
• Write a topic sentence that provided the title, author, and genre of my text?
• Provide context of what is happening in the text, so my reader understands what I’m talking about (1-3 sentences)
• Find a direct quote from the text that proves my idea that is properly introduced and punctuated (Arnold states, ".....")?
• Thoroughly explain the significance of my quote/how it proves my idea (2-4 sentences)?
• Check for correct punctuation and spelling?

In Judy Blume's realistic fiction Just As Long We're Together; one advice I would give to Stephanie is that never be friends wirh someone until your best friend is sure enough they can be friends. After Stephanie had a conversation with Allison; Stephanie said that you will met my best friend Rachel tomorrow. "What's she like? Rachel asked. She's small and friendly. I said....I introduced Allison to Rachel at the bus stop." This quote shows that Stephanie introuced Allison to Rachel and liked her to, but Rachel doesn't like her unquie style. It's like juding her way in fashion. Therefore, my advice to Stephanie is never be friends wirh someone until your best friend is sure enough they can be friends.

Andy Chen | 44 comments In Carl Deuker's realistic fiction novel, Night Hoops, the advice I would give to Nick is to have team chemistry with his teammates. Nick is a 12 year-old boy that struggles to work with teammate, Trent Dawson. Both made the varsity basketball team, but Nick doesn't have team chemistry to share the ball with his teammates, especially Trent. Carl's coach once stated, "In order to play well as a team and defeat opponent teams, you must perform great team chemistry. Work together to share the ball, and the team would be dominant in no time!" This quote shows Nick has to fit well with his teammates because if you keep hogging the ball, it makes bad team chemistry. To score points, he must move the ball more, especially working that with Trent. Since Nick is a pro basketball player, along with Trent, they could practice to work together and share the ball more often, and both can get used to pairing up with each other in a game court. Therefore, this would be the advice I would give to Nick.

Altamir III III (longdeoking) | 27 comments In Sharon M. Draper realistic fiction novel, Tears of a Tiger, an advice that I would give my protagonist BEFORE killing himself was to talk to me about his problems. I say this because he was suffering still from the accident and that he needed someone to talk to, and nobody was there. So he tried to scratch it off but the pain was to strong and the next thing you know, he picked up his father's rifle gun and shot him in the head. Now, the advice I would give him was my help. If I knew how to jump inside of books like cartoons, I would do that, but I don't so then, its just some imaginary advice. So then that's all that I have to say for now.

Ilijah A | 40 comments Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter, #7) by J.K. Rowling
In J.K.Rowling's fantasy book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, one advice I would give to the main character Harry is to think bout the positive things and not the negative. The main character Harry Potter is a teenage wizard whos parents were killed when he was only a baby by an evil wizard name Lord Voldemort. Harry Potter goes to a school for wizards called Hogwarts. Voldemort wants to kill Harry because he tried to kill him as a baby but he lived so he is called "the chosen one". In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Harry has to find seven horcruxe's to make Voldemort weaker. “I'm going to keep going until I succeed or die. Don't think I don't know how this might end. I've known it for years.” This quote shows that after all thus time he will fight Voldemort and try to kill him even if he will die trying. In conclusion the reason I gave him this advice is because even when things look bad you should always think of something Positive not negative.

Zoe | 25 comments In Christopher Paolini's fantasy novel Eldest, one piece of advice i would give to Eragon is to stay calm. In the novel, Eragon is sent to Ellesmera to practice his training. An elf there named Oromis is teaching Eragon about new spells, and getting better at using a sword. Oromis tells Eragon that sometime in the future there will be a war due to Eragon finding and raising Saphira. Eragon starts to get a little nervous about the war, so he's not paying much attention to his training. In the novel, Eragon tells Oromis that he doesn't want to continue his training. This quote shows that Eragon is nervous, so he doesn't want to keep training. in conclusion, this shows why I would suggest for Eragon to calm down, because if he doesn't calm down, he won't get the training that he needs.

Bryan | 41 comments In Michele Serros realistic fiction novel, Honey Blonde Chica, the advice that I would give her would be to try and feel the flow of things. Evie is now presently in a middle of a friendship war, Raquel and Dee Dee are currently trying to see who will Evie choose as her BDF, (best designer friend). "At heart, is Evie a Cali-casual Flojo chick, or a sexy Sangro diva?" This quote shows that Evie needs to try and feel the flow because if she doesn't than she may not have friends Raquel or Dee Dee ever again, or any friends at that matter, die alone and friendless. So Evie needs to try and feel the flow.

Sydney Mok (SydneyMok) | 43 comments In the realistic fiction book Like a Tree Without Roots by Teresa Ann Willis, the protagonist Jasmine is a 13 year old African American. The advice I would give her is to be who you are and never try and be like someone else. I think this advice is good for Jasmine because she is the type of girl who wants to be like everybody else. Since she is African American and her skin is really dark compared to her mom's, she is made fun of at school by Puerto Ricans and Dominicans. Jasmine hates the way she looks like and the fact that she can't even get a perm because her mom won't let her, makes her hate the way she looks more. Since everybody has a perm, she want one too. Jasmine thinks to herself " She wasn't the lady on the relaxer kit and she wasn't the girl in the music video. She was me. Black. Dirty. African" (3). This quote show that she doesn't like the way she looks. She wants to be like a white girl but she is African instead. She calls herself dirty and black which shows that she doesn't like her looks. She wants to look like everyone else by getting a perm. She even wants to bleach her skin because it's so dark. That's why I think the best advice for her is to be who you are and never try to be someone else because you are who you are and you should be proud of yourself.

Wesley | 50 comments IN S.E Hintin's Realistic fiction, That was Then, This is Now, Advice I would give Mark and Bryon is try be better people. This book about the past when Bryon and Mark were both young people who are like the outsider gang. They smoke curse and are very loud, and like to steal. Mark first stole when he was 6 years old. Bryon is the hustler. " I was the hustler and Mark was the thief." This shows their friendship and how good of a friendship they have. This also shows how they are bad kids. They steal an get a huge profit. Plus they are poor so they do whatever they can. But they go to do the right thing to get money, get a job. Therefore advice oi would give them is try to be better people.

Elizabeth Sanchez | 14 comments In the book Go ask Alice, I would give the main character advice to try and be optimistic. I say this because so far the main character is quiet negative, and is kind of in like a dark place at this moment. "My life is completely over." This quote proves the negativity towards her life. I feel like she should try and make the best of it. Try and think of the greater things and what brings joy to herself. Life is about greater things, she shouldn't continually put herself down. She should have more convedance.

Yamil Cifuentes | 40 comments In R.L. Stine's fiction book, "The Masked Mutant," The advice I would give to my advice is to not stop until you find out what is going on. "Should I stop what am I doing or should I keep on going to find out what is happening." This quote shows that he don't know what to do and might not want to take any risks. A comic book character came out of Skipper's comic when Skipper wasn't in the room and Skipper found out because he was seeing stuff from his comic book in real life. But he also wants to find out what is happening.

Gabby T. | 22 comments In the relistic fiction book Handle with care by Jodi picoult the adivce I would give to one of the progtanist Charlotte is to not only be a mother for Willow but to also be a a mother for Amelia .Charlote and Sean are the parents of 2 daughters Willow who is 5 and has a rare diease called server osteogensis imperfecta which is a diease were your bones break easly. And Amelia who is 12 year old and has no health promblems. Charlotte tends to pay a attention more to Willow because of this and ignores Amelia most of the time. She tends to forget to pick Amelia from school and Sean usally has to do it.She forgot about Amelia bake-sale for the school and didn't make anything. Also she doesent really know whats going on with Amelia life. Yet for willow she is very much involed in her life and she dosent notice Amelia. For intance Amelia feels so neglected that she cuts hers and is bulimic. she does because it a sense of relif and blames her family kind-of . when she cut herself for the very first time she thought to herself "that ment either I was not from a good girl or I did not come from a good family take your pick." This shows that Ameila somewhat blames her family for her cutting because she feel neglected and unloved so she she trys to relif the stress or the emotion by cutting herself thefore she "comes from a bad family".If Charlotte would payed more attention to Amelia maybe Amelia wouldn't cut herself and feel that loved.

Kenjo | 41 comments In Ian o’Connor’s biography, “The Journey Of Derek Jeter,” an advice I would give Derek Jeter is to keep doing what he’s been doing. The biography is about Jeter growing up wanting to be a shortstop for the New York Yankees. He went through a lot of struggles and times where he wanted to give up and pursue a basketball career. He stated, “I couldn’t believe what my manager had told me.” This is the time when his manager at Columbus informed him that he was going to get sent to the Yankees to play for them. This quote shows that everything he had been doing, and all the things he put effort into had finally paid off and I think that he’s done such an amazing job that he should keep doing what he’s doing and work hard.

Jamilah B | 37 comments Rodrick Rules (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, #2) by Jeff Kinney

In Jeff Kinney's realistic fiction novel, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, the advice I would give to Greg would be to try and get along with his brother Rodrick. In the text, it says that Rodrick is always picking on Greg and called him a sissy for carrying a journal around with him. When Greg needed a ride home from swim practice, Rodrick had to pick him up in his band van, but there aren't any seats in the back so he had to sit with his band instruments. "So when Rodrick picked me up today, I asked him to please take it easy on the brakes. Rodrick said OK, but then he went out of his way to find every speed bump in town." This quote shows that even when Greg asked Rodrick politely to take it easy while hes driving, Rodrick lied and drove over many speed bumps just to make Greg angry. So therefore the advice i would give to my antagonist Rodrick would be to be more kind to the protagonist Greg.

Rashel33 | 6 comments In the realistic nonfiction "it happen to Nancy" by Beatrice Sparks one advise i would give to my character would be to turn around. Nancy thinks he loves her back she trusts him with everything. Both of Nancy's friends try to convince her that hes to old for her but she denies everything just to see him everyday. She starts feeling uncomfortable an embarrassed when he starts touching her"us lying there eating chips until he starts rubbing my arms , a strange little quivering shot through me." This quote shows how shes stops and feels embarrassed and uncomfortable, therefore she should turn around and leave him for the best.
