Long ago, a Demon Wolf wandered the woods near the town of Thicklewood, one night, at the house of young Emilia Woods, the wolf attacked. It was a blood moon, demon wolves were known to be drivin into a craze every blood moon, even more than they were on full moons. On blood moons, the curse could be passed on to a non-wolf. Emilia's father took her up on the roof while he and her four brothers fought the wolf, it killed all the brothers. Emilia jumped down and ran to her father just as the wolf ripped out his heart. She turned and behang to run away from his green-yellow eyes, he pounce on her and bit her shoulder and scratched her arm, by doing so, infected her. Years later, a handsome man, the wolf in disguise, came and married Emelia Woods, they had a son together and the son was married and had two daughters, one, the eldest, Melinda, however, was not his child, but from an affair his wife, Suzette, had with a local taylor. Valery, the youngest, was very close to Emilia. Emilia was a famous baker and had a bakery in town, however, she lived a few miles out in the woods, and every now and them, Valery would bring her some goods from the bakery.

Valery Woods was told by her mother to bring some cookies and milk to her sick grandmother, Emilia Woods. On the way there she bumped into a wolf, who talked sweetly and flattered her. She forgot her mother's words. The wolf asked where she was going and she told her to her grandmother's house and that she was ill, she even gave him a general direction to it. The wolf told her that she was too much in a hurry to get there and to rest and pick flowers. Valery thought that her grandmother would love a bouquet and picked flowers, there was always a more beautifuler one farther away and soon she was dreadfully lost. The wolf arrived and ate the grandmother, got dressed, baked some cookies to entice Valery and when to bed. When Valery arrived, she found the wolf and the wolf asked if she was hungry and she said she was. So the wolf offered her some cookies, which tasted awful, now Valery knew her grandmother was the BEST baker in the land and began to get suspicious of the wolf. After questioning the wolf, he got up and devoured her. She screamed and her screamed reached a huntsman who was near by. The wolf began to snore and the huntsman knew the grandmother was ill and decided to check up on her, with the scream coming from the direction and now the snoring. When he found the wolf, he cut him open and freed the two women and told Valery to get some stones and the grandmother to get a sewing machine. They filled the wolf's stomach with rocks and sewed him up. When the wolf awoke and found he couldn't move, he vomited up the stones. The next thing the three heard was glass breaking, they ran back into the bedroom to find the wolf gone.

Valery, or Red as she became known as for she wore her red cloak all the time ever since the wolf attack, went to the grandmother's house and found the old woman's corpse, murdered, obvioulsy, by a werewolf, also called a demon wolf. When she went home, she found a wolf pup in the basket, she was temped to kill it AND temped to keep it and in the end the two grew close. Red was out one night and heard a blood-curdling howl. She began to run and with her pet wolf, Puppy, not by her side, and she was unarmed, she was attacked and killed. However, her dog came and licked her wounds and brought her back to life, piecing the pieces of ripped flesh back in place and revived her. She vowed to kill the wolf. The wolf attacked 3 Pig-People, a family of goat-shifters and with a string of murdered and missing girls, Red found the Big Bad Wolf and killed him, but not before he bit her boyfriend, Peter, under the Blood Moon. Peter was infected but he left Valery, fearing she would kill him. He returned to her a month later, with some disturbing news. The wolf that attacked her grandmother was not the wolf that killed her grandmother. As it turned out, the wolf that attacked Red when she was 7 was, in fact, her own father. This must have been why he left, she thought, and she inferred that he was also the murderer of her sister years back. Red knew that her mother did not know of the wolf blood in her veins.
