Love it Coralie!I found on my shelves-
A. Frog and Easy
B. Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet and Seduced in the Dark
I'm confused by the approval of Fran's first book for option B (post 6)There are 2 "F"s and lots of 'E's in the title.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the task -- but there should be no repeats at all right?
Okay, I'm confused. I need to clarify something. So we can either read TWO books - one from Option 1 Book A and one from Option 1 Book B...
OR we can read ONE book from Option 2
Is this correct?

Yes, that is correct.
Sandra wrote: "Would Island of Lost Girls work for Option #2?"I don't think so, the letters in the title aren't all different. I think it would work for option 1 book B though.

They look fine
Fiona (Titch) wrote: "Dust - Arthur Slade for option 1A?"
Yes, that works.
♥Robin ♥ wrote: "Option 2: Whale Song 5,4"
Sorry Robin, but to satisfy the second condition you need at least four words in the title.

OOOOOPS....I think I am confused/not understanding about how this task works.

I'm confused too :(
Option One is to read two books, book A and book B.Option Two is to read one book which satisfies the conditions of both book A and book B.
For book A it doesn't matter how many words are in the title, but book B (and hence option two) needs to have at least four words in the title.
Bekka wrote: "Does "THE" count as a word for this task? as in "The Rivals" - ?thanks!"
Yes, all words count.

Yes, all words count."
Thanks!
Help! I may have made a giant mistake. Book B is supposed to be one in which each word length in the title (or title and subtitle combined) is different. I didn't realize that there was a subtitle to this book since on the cover and first page it merely says A Cab Called Reliable. (Also in the Library of Congress Catalogue in Publishing data the title is listed as A Cab Called Reliable) If I have to use the subtitle, the book does not fufill the conditions stated since a is used twice. So if I must use the subtitle please disregard this post and I'll pick another book
No, you don't have to use the subtitle. It is entirely up to you if you use it or not. (You might have needed it to reach the required number of words.)A Cab Called Reliable: A Novel works fine.
Do I have to count the subtitle for Book A? I'd like to use 1493: Uncovering the New World Columbus Created.

1493: Uncovering the New World Columbus Created works for book A.

Thanks so much!
Ok, I love the Fables series, but the title ON the book cover/spine is different than in good reads. The title is Fables: Inherit the Wind. However, in the GR database, it is Fables, Vol. 17: Inherit the Wind. It has "Vol 17". I wanted to use this for my Book B.
It looks to me as though the Vol 17 has been added when the book was put on Goodreads so I am going to approve it. When you post it say that it was approved in the help thread.
♥Robin ♥ wrote: "Does this work for Book B:Mr. Churchill's Secretary: A Novel 2,10,9,1,5"
Yes, I will let you have it.

Thanks ☺
Does Life, Vol. 1 work for Book A? It does if you don't spell out "Volume" or "One", but I'm not sure which way you or the mods would go with it. Here's the cover:

"Yes, I approve it. In my opinion Vol 1 is more of a subtitle than title. Say when you post it that it is approved in the help thread.

2013 will be the first year since 1987 that all the digits in the year are different.
OPTION 1:
Read two books.
Book A - Read a book with every letter (or character) in the title different. For example, Mockingjay, 1Q84, or One Day.
Book B - Read a book with at least four words in the title (or title and sub-title combined) where every word has a different number of letters. For example A Game of Thrones
1,4,2,7 letters, or To Kill a Mockingbird 2,4,1,11 letters.
OPTION 2: Read one book that meets both of the above requirements. For example, A Time for Us. Every letter in title different, letter count 1, 4, 3, 2.
For this option, you must make the same choice (title only or title/subtitle combined) for each of the criteria.
For both options, hyphenated words count as one word. Numerals such as 136 would count as one word (in this case with 3 letters). REQUIRED: Include the letter count in your post, as in the examples above.
