Mark I was looking for books with a similar feel as Dan Simmons' The Terror and this book was second on the list. The synopsis has me very anxious to start reading. I'm hoping it's the next to add to my favorites list like a lot of the reviews are saying.

This is my first book from this author. Should I know anything before starting it?

Brian Oddly enough I read 'The Terror' in May ( spectacular book), then 'Speaks the Nightbird' in July. McCammon's a magnificent writer, he's a man who values his characters above all else. You'll enjoy it, I thought historical fiction would be dry until I read this.

Mark I finished speaks the nightbird and then also just completed the sequel Queen of Bedlam. The first book was fantastic and the second one was also very good although not as good as the first.

I agree that the terror was amazing. There needs to be more books like it.

I read these this past summer, I was glad I had my kindle as I couldn't wait to get the next one. I listened to this one in the car, and read the next 2 and got the 4th on audio for the return trip. Loved them.

Mark How are books 3 and 4? I've heard mixed reviews. I'm kind of bummed the third book is only available in hardcover right now at a whopping $50.

Mary I read Speaks the Nightbird several years ago. Good book, especially if you are interested in the Salem Witch Trials.

Andy outstanding novel. You dont need to know anything about the book prior to reading as it is the first in the series.

Laura Martin Amazing book, I have read it over and over, and listen to it on Audible. The entire series is outstanding!
