Feb 1st, is a Celtic day of celebration that marks the middle of Winter and holds the promise of Spring. It is also known as Candlemas and St Brigid’s day. For this task read a book that is about or based on Celtic Mythology. Examples: anything about King Arthur, Celtic Myths and Legends, Daughter of the Forest, Morrigan's Cross, The Mists of Avalon, Druids. This list might help, too --

I read Seer of Sevenwaters by Juliet Marillier. This series continues to be one of my favorites. Marillier blends celtic myth and legend with her own unique story about the women of Sevenwaters in old Ireland. pg 432

The second book I read was Fire and Hemlock by Diane Wynne Jones. The previous books I have read by Jones I have always like, especially Howl's Moving Castle. This is the first book by her that I did not like. The first 2/3 of the book dragged and the relationship between the main character Polly and Tom left me very uncomfortable. Overall this is not a book I would recommend. pg 341
