Explain why do you write??

I write because it gives me freedom to do what I want. It gives me a chance to escape into a different world!

Sarah (sarah_endipity) It gives me the chance to express my ideas.

Writing isn't just about taking a paper and a pencil and writing down random words. It's about putting your thoughts on paper. It's about letting your writing flow around you like the ocean. It's about making sure you know what your talking about. When your sad, you write to escape the cruel, and dark world we're all living in right now.

I love this! Have to agree completely with all of y'all's statements.

Jennifer (silverwoodj) As for me, I write because it's necessary to my survival lol. Seriously, I tried to do without it to concentrate on other things a couple of times in my life. I quickly became so depressed that I knew I couldn't do without telling stories in some way. For everyone it's something different I suppose, that "thing" that makes you tick. Writing has always been mine. :)

Giulia I completely understand you Jennifer!
I find that I write best or feel like writing more when I'm depressed or stressed. It really is a way out of things into your own world. Plus, you get inspirations from everything and the way that mere words can create such powerful emotions is a skill I would be honoured to tame.

These Violent Delights (Robin) I write to get out of reality. When you're no longer a kid, reality starts leaving marks on you. I love fantasy and science fiction and paranormal romance the most, my writing is usually under one of those genres. Writing for me is like a portal to a different land, a land where you can be whatever you want and do whatever you want without a care. Writing is a passion of mine<3

I agree! Sometimes the best place you can be in as a writer is the worst emotionally lol. Kind of weird how that works. I'm sure you will tame that skill if you just keep at it. That's what everyone tells me. No matter what or how many books you publish or don't publish, just keep writing!

message 12: by Tammy (new)

Tammy I write because I love to create new people, a new world and can make anything happen within it all.

message 13: by SaphireJoashia (new)

SaphireJoashia | 99 comments I write because I have read so many books and one of my stories that I wrote is basically combining a bunch of books and putting my own twist on it.

I agree. Then the character's will take the decisions to end the story, change it, and you'll just write. Before you know it, it's the end. But you feel...it isn't the end. That's what develops a series. You don't intentionally write to make it a series, it just happens.

SaphireJoashia | 99 comments Kind of, but you can't really tell, unless you know what books that are in it.
