((this is taking place in the past when Jasper has first come to Brooklyn House and they are taking a tour of the House of Life at age 13))

Jasper walked down the long, shining corridor of the First "Nome"(he still didn't really get this "nome" thing yet), following Sadie, Carter, and the other newest trainees as we took our tour. The palace was beautiful, with all the egyptian columns covered in ancient hieroglyphs and interlaced with pure shining gold. The pathway they walked down now was shimmer different colors, and moving in the air, like a portal to another dimension. On the walls were stories of great battles and mythological beasts, which these crazy Kane children were telling him were real. They looked so foggy yet so real, and for a minute Jasper wondered if he was having another vision, but this was too elaborate and beautiful to be made in his mind. When they reached the end of the hall, there was a great golden throne, with a dark skinned man in round jazzy glasses and corn rows of hair going down to his back. "This is the Chief Lector, the most powerful magician in the entire world and ruler--" "Wise counselor," the Chief Lector corrected. "--and "wise counselor" of the House of Life, Amos Kane, our own uncle (which, in my opinion, she said very pridefully ((is that a word?)) )," Sadie announced.
