J (itsamirror08) Jasper creaked open the long golden doors and stood in awe. This was his type of place. He gazed up at the ceiling at Nut, the sky. The stars looked so amazing, like he was actually outside gazing at the stars. He brushed against some old scrolls and they fell to the floor and crumpled to dust. "Oops," he muttered. He picked up one of the scrolls that he hadn't destroyed and started reading the ancient hieroglyphs. It was the story of an ancient battle, of two minor gods before man was created. It was an amazing story, and he wondered if it was true (you can never tell with mythology). This whole library must be filled with ancient novels and guides to magic. If a historian got his hands on these, they could probably make three new ancient history books. Jasper glanced around the room; then, when he was sure no one was there, he kept reading.

Joseph ~ The Madman with a Box (themadmanwithabox) Howard walked in eyeing every single piece of scrolls there were. "Where is it? Where is it?" He thought about it for a minute and asked a shabti to retrieve it. "Bring me the Ebers Papyrus," he said to it.

((Is it a shabti they use to retrieve scrolls and ancient artifacts?? Or is it another type of clay statue??))

Joseph ~ The Madman with a Box (themadmanwithabox) After reading it for a moment he put it down for the shabti to put it back where it originally was. He walked around the library for a little and spotted Rose reading a scroll. "Wow you recently just came to Brooklyn house, and you're already doing some research, amazing."

Joseph ~ The Madman with a Box (themadmanwithabox) "No worries you could ask a shabti, they're very helpful!" He smiled at her suddenly realizing he likes her.

J (itsamirror08) Jasper was in the back of the third row and deeply engaged in the 916th scroll he had read (he had skipped the entire second row when he saw that the third row was about Nut), when he heard voices. He thought they might be in his head, but when he glanced around, he saw a boy and a girl and a little wax statue looking for a particular book in the sixth row: family histories. He put away the scroll and ducked under the shelf, then tiptoed toward them.
The boy was smiling, the girl looked confused, but they both looked nice. He recognized the girl from the patio. He knew he shouldn't have been in here, but they shouldn't have either, so he decided it was okay. "No worries..." he heard the boy saying. He realized the boy must like the girl. He heard them talking about shabti. The girl didn't know what they were, which was surprising to Jasper. Shabti had been the first Egyptian invention that Jasper had ever used. They walked down the bookshelf some more until they were right by him, so Jasper ducked into row seven a pretended he had been there the whole time. The boy was in the middle of his description when he turned the corner and ran into Jasper.

J (itsamirror08) This wasn't the first time Jasper had shown off his clumsiness, and this time it was in front of people in a place he shouldn't even be. His first instinct: run. But if he ran from everyone, how was he going to make any friends? He tried to clear his mind of old memories. After a long awkward silence, someone finally spoke.

Joseph ~ The Madman with a Box (themadmanwithabox) "A Shabti is a clay figurine that people create for specific info or to retrieve things, but don't worry they'll put the things back once you're done with it," Howard said. He looked at Jasper and waved. "Hi! My name is Howard what's yours?"

J (itsamirror08) Jasper was glad that the boy, Howard, had completely ignored that they had literally just smacked into each other, and had introduced himself. Jasper rubbed his face, and started to reply, but he was distracted by a girl who had just said something about lost puppies. "Um, uhhh... hi, I am Jasper. He looked down, and glanced at the girl. It was the excited girl from the patio. He hoped he hadn't offended her by leaving, and so he invited her to the conversation.

J (itsamirror08) "Um, yeah, I hope that's not my new nickname." Jasper replied to the girl. At first she had just seemed annoying, but Jasper understood sarcasm, and apologized. Just when he thought they had started a good conversation and he just might be able to make friends this year, the golden doors creaked open, and everyone looked in the direction of the noise. "What do you think you are doing in here? This is a top secret room of information!" Cleo, the librarian, exclaimed. They all scrambled awkwardly out of the room, and headed in seperate directions.

J (itsamirror08) ((come to my room if you still want to role-play :P))

Joseph ~ The Madman with a Box (themadmanwithabox) "Oops sorry!" Howard laughed. "Come on Rose let's go to the patio." He walked ran out hoping Rose would follow.
