I'ed love to have your books in physical form. The only one I've ever seen was a hardcover copy of CURRENCY OF SOULS.
Thanks, Kealan! Excellent! Just ordered Kin. (damn Amazon 1-click buying!) I'll have to wrap it for Christmas and say it was from the kids to avoid my wife having a cow over how many books I have been buying. Merry Christmas to me!!
all well-deserved, but I just have a comment on your poll:I chose The Hides, but really for me it's between The Hides and The Turtle Boy. As I said in my review, Vessels just tore-me-up.:)
Jon: "Godzilla"? Please: the man is much too adorable to qualify as "Godzilla"Charlene: Why have you not yet read Nemesis? and excluding it, which would you select as favourite?

A literary "Godzilla", Mallory.
Literally, he's more like a tall Furby....
Mallory, I have had some issues this week with my Mom, who was in the hospital. Plus I have a horror group that reads a book a week. Plus I belong to the Darkfuse book club, that sends one book and one novella per month. Plus bonus books whenever they feel like it. Up to this point, without reading Nemesis, I would cheat and choose Stage Whispers. : )
Jon, you're a sweetie yourself.
Kealan wrote: "That's kinda part of why I like VESSELS more than the previous two. The more emotionally devastating something is, the more successful I consider it."For me, the subject matter in Turtle Boy made it the most "emotionally devastating" novel(a) of yours to date, and I also voted it as my favorite. Hm. You may be on to something there.
Charlene, very sorry to hear about your mother-will keep her in my prayers.A book a week? too cool.
I mean to join the Dark Fuse book club-after Dec. 30 (when I have funds again).
Kealan: "I am, yes." You are: a literary Godzilla? (sounds like Literary Lion, which used to be the description of Norman Mailer, whom you don't resemble). or you are: a tall Furby?:)
yes, Turtle Boy is devastating; I reread it Tgiving week, as I did my "Timmy Quinn Series" marathon.:)
Mallory, thanks. (The Darkfuse club is AWESOME, btw!)And my Mom is home now. Thanks for the prayers. : )
Oh! I noted Glen Kritsch selected "Kin" as one of his 2012 favourites! (yes, I realise it's a non sequitur LOL)
I doubt this is the place to put this comment...and it is a comment...not a question...however...I only today realized that you were the fellow that designed the cover for "Screamscapes" by Evans Light! You are not only a prolific writer but one very talented artist, too!
Congratulations, Master Burke! (and Evans, too!)
I'm super impressed, Jon! So much talent in one man! ...and I was already impressed with his writing and how prolific he was! Guess I'll have to check out what other covers he's done. Thanks for the info, Jon...:>
Wow! Thanks, Jon! Talented fellow, isn't he...:>Thank you for sharing...I also marked a couple to read that I didn't already have marked, too...so thanks, again for that...:>
Cheers!

I was psyched to see it, actually! Because of Sera's work with Darkfuse I had become used to associating his work with excellent dark fiction.
