I saw that too. I thought the book is great and see where it will be a good TV series if done properly. Stephen King's work doesn't always translate well to the small screen.

Finished the book a few hours ago, hoping to watch the show.....might be past my bedtime!!

Rachel, what did you think of the book? I hope they don't mess it up also! Isn't it funny how passionate readers are when it comes to books made into movies or tv specials!! Don't think I can stay awake and watch it.....have to get up at 4 am.

I actually have mixed feelings about the book -there were parts I loved and parts in the middle that got on my nerves and thought could have been edited out. it probably didn't help that I read 11/22/63 before utd-
11/22/63 was AMAZING and it was hard not to compare the two books.

that said, overall I thought under the dome was a good story with memorable characters. i'm looking forward to the show because in the right hands I think it will make great tv. I hate when tv/movie people mess up my books!

I agree with you Rachel about Under the Dome, thought the middle was sluggish, but overall a good read. I don't know about you, but the ending was o.k. for me, nothing to oohhh and aahh about.

Started 11/22/63 but had to put it on the shelf, life was getting in the way. What I had read of that book I really enjoyed, will finish it someday!

Miss the old days, where your friends would tape a show on the VCR and you could get the tape from them, guess I need to step into the new era!!

What did you think of the show?

I liked the show but there are a lot of changes- I think it's inspired by the book but definitely not a faithful adaptation-

the hour did fly by so i'm looking forward to next week's episode despite the changes.

I also miss vcr's lol

Glad to hear you liked the show! Wonder if DVD's will be available from video stores once the series is done, perhaps then I could watch it. Darn early hours and employment...lol!

I didn't read the book yet and got home from work late so i only watched 10 minutes of it. Does anyone know if they will air it again and when??

you may be able to view episodes that already aired online.

not sure if it will be available on dvd- maybe Netflix will offer it when the series is over- especially if there is a season 2 (which I read may happen if the show is successful in the ratings)

Ok thanks. I was watching Bates Motel and every week they usually play the previous episode before the new one. So I'm hoping they do that.
