Introduce yourself here!
Hi,My name is Kate and I'm Canadian, but I live in Germany. So, when I want to read about new ebooks, I go to the Amazon.co.uk site where my own book is listed. I love to read, but there are lots of books I hate. Entire genres even! Still, I am always willing to be tolerant and accepting of others tastes.
I am just getting to know Good Reads and introducing myself around. I look foward to getting to know all of you. http://www.ebookmall.com/author/kate-...
Hi Kate. You've done the Meet the Authors thing, haven't you? If you haven't, how are we going to read all about your book and discuss it with you?
Hi Kate and Geoffrey and everyone I have missed whilst being cut off from the world. Welcome to our lovely group.
Wow! What a nice group of people. I haven't felt so welcome anywhere ever. And what is this "meet the authors" thing? I was hoping you would just want to ask me lots of personal questions first and then, later, after I have really charmed you, we'd talk shop.
We chat all over the forum Kate. This thread quickly grows and we then struggle to find each other. If you create an author thread with links to your work then we know where to find you and your books. If we sample or buy them we can pop back and have a wee blether about them.Have a look around, see what interests you in the other threads and dive in!
Hi Kate and Geoffrey!!!Welcome to the fun! I'm DeeDee, one of the gaurdians, I'm in charge of brownies and fluffy pillows. I'm here to make your assimilation into the group go that little bit smoother. Here are some rules you might want to take notice of. Please leave your sanity at the door, put on our *special* uniform {don't worry, Peppermint P. will be along to help you with the buckles in just a minute} and don't poke your fingers through the cages.
Failure to comply will result in an involuntary trip to the dungeon where Gingerlily presides as dungeon mistress.
Please enjoy your stay!
Welcome Kate! (And Geoffrey!)Can I get a new pink jacket please Patti? I have custard and chocolate stains all over this one.
Ooh! I need a new purple one please Patti! You don't wanna know what I got all over mine ;-)Welcome to all newbies! I am the sane one :-)

A good time to remind Emz about the chocolate fountain, don't you think???

*swoons at the memory of dancing with David all covered in chocolate!!*
Hello everyone! Barry here. Sorry I'm late - I've been wandering lost in the giant maze that Goodreads has become and only just found my way here. I've written some books, but I promise not to bore the pants off you by plugging them. I spend much more time reading than writing. I live in Brixham, the fishing port on the South Devon coast, where it's a perfect day - cloudless blue sky and blue sea. Hope it's a good day wherever you are.

You're in charge of brownies?! *sidles up and smiles*
Hello Barry - we aren't bored of books, that's why we're here. We have a Meet the Authors section and you're welcome to start your own thread there. We'll come and look!
Hi everyone! I've just joined this group, so I'm looking forward to getting to know more people. In case anyone wonders why I sign off as Jenny, it's because this is my husband's account (he's the organ grinder, I'm the lowly monkey lol) but he has a brain injury that means that he can write books offline fine, he just can't deal with the pc or the internet (too much information for him to deal with). Sorry if I've put a downer on the chat, I just wanted to explain, once, here, so that I can chat on all of my other posts without having to explain each time (if that makes sense!)
I love brownies so I'll be joining Geoffrey in sidling up to DeeDee lol
And Barry, I had a holiday in Torquay years ago and went to Brixham on a day trip. It's lovely :)
Jenny :)
Thanks for the welcome- it looks as if it will be fun.Ignite - I'll do as you suggest and head off to the authors' section. I've come across a lot of your reviews - it's good to see the photo and be able to put a face to the name.
Michael - glad to hear you approved of our town. We welcome holidaymakers, of course, but unlike the rest of Torbay we're not dependent on that trade. As the busiest fishing port in England, Brixham is a bustling little town all year around with lots to keep us occupied. Come and see us again!
Welcome Barry and Jenny. I hope I have missed anyone, I do try so hard to keep track, but unfortunately I am a bear of little brain. Ask anyone here and they'll tell you.Anyway, I hope you find us as friendly a crowd and tell us all about your interests and, in Barry's case, your books.

Oh, very good GL, saw what you did there. Let's just leave it at small brain, eh. Remeber what happened the last time you insulted the ducks. You don't want them coming round again, do you?

What it is to be popular!!! ;-P
Welcome Jenny!
Hi D.D.How lucky we are! Devon has everything: two coastlines, the moors, the rivers, pretty villages, interesting towns and (most important) lots of warm, friendly and creative people.
Ornage? Meet Gingerlily, the queen of typos.
Welcome newest members! Looking forward to seeing your posts in lots of threads!
Hello and welcome to both you and Michael Jenny. I'll have a look at his work later.I do like a good horror story! I'm Sarah BTW(also share OH's account).

And the best clotted cream in the world!!!
I've introduced myself on 'Meet the authors' so I'll try and put something different here. I'm Jean, moved to the south of France nine years ago after years of teaching English in Wales (and writing books at the same time). Can now spend more time on writing and photography. My fourteen published books include poetry, YA fiction, military history, a cookbook and am currently writing historical novels set in the 12th century. I think this is one reason I've never found Mr Right as a publisher - too much variety!Look forward to joing in discussions but am nervous of the time it takes.
Welcome to the gang Jean. Just have a shuftie around and chip in when you feel like it - that's the way we get to know each other.
Hello everyone, I'm Claire. You sound like a friendly bunch so I've joined. :) I have two grown up kids, a part time job, I love reading (fantasy/historical/crime/romance) ideally all in one book. I am writing a book and really hoping to finish it and feel happy with it, if nothing else, a high fantasy type story with a bit of raunchyness...Look forward to getting to know you

Please start by adding a post to our ‘Introduce Yourself ‘ thread. We are a nosey lot and would love to know who you are, what you like to read (and write), where you live and what you drink, eat, wear and grow.
This thread meanders off-topic quite a bit but as soon as a new member comes along our friendly but bonkers members soon appear to give you a warm welcome.
Of course you don’t have to introduce yourself if you prefer.
Getting started is often a bit of a problem. Try our Group Quick Start for tips.
You could head off to Meet The Authors, check out our Monthly Book Selection, check out the New releases or play some Group Games.
The Author Zone is going great guns. This is not just for authors by any means but gives them a place where they can talk about publishing challenges and resources. It is a no-promo zone!
Even if you don’t feel ready to post something you are most welcome to sit back and watch the fun.
This forum is very lightly moderated (hardly noticeable), occasionally we will ask you to keep a particular thread on topic and we have a few simple rules about author threads and new releases.
There are plenty of ebook related threads, author related discussions including a debate on the merits of KDP Select and a place to share your musical taste.
If you have any problems you can post questions on the threads or visit our Agony Aunt and someone will come along and help. If you would rather not ask your question publicly by all means send a personal message (PM) to Patti or myself and we will try to help.
I archive this section from time to time, so if you want a conversation that isn't going to disappear, feel free to use any of the existing threads or start your own.
