How to Kill a Rock Star
question
Death?

I guess I'm still a bit lost as to why Paul wanted to fake his death? Still slightly confused.
Also, The reunion on the airplane was so dull. Why wasnt her reaction more emotional when she saw him?

I just took it as he wanted out of the business as they were changing his music making him something he wasn't and given him his phantom pains
because Bananafish is not selling records as expected...and the band is tottaly losing grasp..and the industry wants to change them, which Paul doesn't like so he fake his death hahaha..still stupid though..
and the reunion well Eliza has a trauma because of what her parents had gone through.actually it was written they were laughing and crying after Paul said:"oh here's my Betrothed":)

I just figured when she spotted him on the plane that shed have more of a bigger reaction.
He was under contract which he couldn't get out of. The only way (unless he sold out) was if he died.
I might be completely wrong here, but it said Michael gets "any future royalties his music might yield." Since his "death" the sales went up, plus Winkle deciding to release that second album. I saw faking his death as a win/win. Of course, I'm just assuming the albums sell.
I know that wasn't the reason for faking his death, but I thought the will was a clever touch.
