I would gladly put a huge banner here for the most expected release of this year, but better not. Some people might feel very irritated, like some at my work who really can't understand why I make such a big deal of it. Creatures with furry feet living in the holes and a bunch of unrecognizable dwarves? Wh..?

Ok. Here are the releases of this month:

Cogan's Trade by George V. Higgins Cogan's Trade by George V. Higgins - a repeat from the last month - renamed as Killing Them Softly came out on November 30th;

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien - the first part actually, called An Unexpected Journey -- by the way, a book of the month too (check the discussion here);

Jack Reacher One Shot (Movie Tie-in Edition) A Novel by Lee Child One Shot by Lee Child -- renamed as Jack Reacher (2012);

Les Misérables by Victor Hugo Les Misérables by Victor Hugo -- a musical with so powerful cast it is simply a must see;

Quartet ;& Equally Divided by Ronald Harwood Quartet by Ronald Harwood -- a film, Quartet (2012) has limited release in some countries this month;

Lay the Favorite A Story About Gamblers by Beth Raymer Lay the Favorite by Beth Raymer -- the memoirs interesting enough to be filmed as a comedy with pretty good casting;

Life of Pi by Yann Martel Life of Pi by Yann Martel came last month in the cinemas but is supposed to hit all the other ones this month;

Cheerful Weather for the Wedding by Julia Strachey Cheerful Weather for the Wedding by Julia Strachey, a novella on which cute same-name British film was based - but when and if it would hit theaters everywhere, I can't really tell;

*Back to 1942, based on a novel Remembering 1942 by Liu Zhenyun which it seems I can't find here on GoodReads - help with this one would be appreciated.
