Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Today I plan to order the following device: ====>

It's a "Mini Computer Vac".
Does anyone have any experience with this type of thing?

I'm also ordering the following tiny battery-operated desk lamp: ===>

My husband loves it for close work on tiny things.
Our grown-up son saw it and wants one for the same reason.
Our 7 year old grandson saw it and loved it. So we're getting one for him.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I've never thought the computer vac's were much good. I use compressed air &/or a regular vacuum. The little ones just don't have any power. Keyboards just collect dirt & store it unbelievably well. Put them on their side & whack them as you blow or vacuum. Change directions & repeat several times. Set them back down & weep at all garbage that's still in them. Eventually, just buy another cheap keyboard.

The light looks handy. I find I like a lot more light now. I have something like it in my shop, but mine uses a power cord, not batteries.

I carry a small flashlight with me almost constantly. It's a minimag light here: http://www.maglite.com/productline.asp
Mine is the 2 AAA cell model. Although I have used others, I find it's the best size for me. Fits in my breast pocket or clipped in a front pants pocket. It's also easy to hold in your mouth when both hands need to be free.

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I bought one, but I have not gotten it out to use yet.

That sounds like a good idea, Jim.

My keyboard is part of my laptop. So it would be hard to replace it. Even though the Mini Vac doesn't have much power, I'd like to try it for myself. I'll probably be sorry. :)

Operandi, I find that we never have enough flashlights. So I'm sure you'll be using yours soon.
