I read this book several years ago when it was first released in the UK and not yet available in the US.I am looking forward to reading the discussions and hopefully it will jar my memory and can contribute.
I hope so Beverly! I'm excited for this because I'm 95% sure I read a short story of hers in Granta and I loved her writing (if I'm remembering correctly).

I think we read this one together...will chime in also if I can remember enough to comment intelligently.
Just got this from the library and can't wait. But have to finish another book first. :(

Yes, we did read this one together and I bet you kept better notes than I did. :)
Wow - surprised that there were no takers on reading this book. Anyone who is interested in sexual trafficking across borders would find this an interesting story as it illustrates how it crosses class, status, education of those women looking for a better life, and not aware/fooled into thinking they are. Also did a good job how each of these women from across different situations responded/reacted and mostly how organized this "business" is and the role governments play in acknowledging or ignoring.
I just fell behind...but I still have this in hand and want to read it. I'm juggling 2012 readings with trying to be on top of things for 2013. :/

I started reading this book, but then my kindle died and I am trying to re-group- I am in distress!!
