The Magic Tree House Books are way too easy! I read them when I was six! All of them! The books are just an exuse to teach kids about history. It has nothing else. And if you look at them you can see that they just do the same things like doing the "before dark" and "day break". Read something with action and emotion, not the same book with boring titles! Get out there and learn about life and not about Wars and Old Things! Read what is happening right now!!

These are really easy to read. I can read these in one day. But even though they are easy they are still fun to read. I love to read these books. I have read all four of these twice! I have read all for of these in a week. And I love to read things about history! Like I said before these are easy but fun to read.
I agree with Kenna. Though they are very simple, very easy to read books (even when I was about 6 or 7 years old) I still can enjoy them. I think that if I reread them I might get bored, now, after I have read them when I was younger.
This is a very good series for kids who are shifting from pictures books to chapter books. The stories are well-written with lots of imaginations. My daughter started to read them from the age of four, and now she can finish reading one book in two nights.
I never got to read these growing up, but my sister is starting to read them. I'm reading them with her since she does homeschool and we need to keep an eye on her reading comprehension. I am really enjoying these books and their ability to take away, even for just a little while. =)

Not that there aren't cases where seven year olds are advanced readers, but it isn't common. These books are a wonderful and educational resource. I'm much older than seven now, but I still enjoy looking back on books and memories from my chilhood.
Oh, and Elizabeth (beautiful name, by the way), history can teach us about life. There is a saying, which is very true, that says "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.(George Santayana)"
Life right now is important, but so is the past, and these books are a great way of teaching children about it.
