There are so many great series out there in the PNR/UF genre. I thought it would be fun to know what you felt the best series is.

As you would notice I leaned heavily more towards PNR rather than UF. I just love my happy endings..LOL..

If you were to ask my my favorite today - I'd have to say Rachel Morgan because I'm reading White Witch, Black Curse. But I know myself well enough to know that when I read Hunted A House of Night Novel my favorite will be that series.

My UF faves would definitely be Jeaninene Frost's Night Huntress series, and Jenna Black's Morgan Kingsley series.
For PNR, it would be the Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward, and Immortals After Dark by Kresley Cole.

There are tons of others that I really like, but as far as loving and being at the store to buy every new release, those are my favorites. (Though I fully anticipate adding the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs - I've only read the first one so far.)

I've only read the 1st Mercy book & LOVED it. I'm sure it will make my list of favs when I get more into it as well.

WOW top three:

For UF I would say Rachel Morgan, Kitty and Sookie Stackhouse oh I need a fourth one because I love Jim Butcher Dresdin files

For PNR I love Larissa Ione (demonica series), Sherrlyn Kenyon (Dark Hunter) and I am torn between the Immortals by Kresley Cole and Midnight breed by Lara Adrian

My favorite would have to be J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood by far..lol!! I am obsessed with this series. I am also really enjoying Sherrlyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series but I haven't got very far in it. I am going to have to go check out everyone's suggestions.

Ooh... that's a tough one. I think it definitely depends on my mood, but these five are must read series for me:

* Special Mention for Sherrilyn Kenyon's - Dark Hunters, Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld and Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy as well. (Sorry, but 5 was just too hard!)

Honestly, I'm probably not qualified to answer this because I have not yet read that many series in either PNR or UF. But out the few I have read, Sookie Stackhouse and Mercedes Thompson are at the top of my list.

I also love the BDB and I hoping the Deominca series will continue well because I absolutely loved the first book!

Sorry there is absolutely no way I can only choose 5 -- but I can narrow it down to 7!

I think my list changes according to my mood and what I am reading

Anita Blake Series by Laurel K. Hamilton. Rachel Morgan Series by Kim Harrison. And after that it changes up some. Karen Chance, Kelly Armstrong, and I can't think of the rest are all great. I'll probably come back and edit this some.

My favorite 3 would be:
1. Charliane Harris: Sookie Stackhouse Series
2. Christine Feehan: Carpathian Series
3. Patricia Briggs: Mercy Thompson Series

So difficult. The auto-purchase list includes:

1. Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series
2. Lynsay Sands' Argeneau series
3. MaryJanice Davidson's Undead series
4. Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampires series

But wow that's only the start. I just read Chance's Cassie Palmer series and thought that was excellent too! As was Murphy's Urban Shaman and Phoenix's A Rush of Wings. I'm going to start on Simon Green soon, so we'll see how that goes.

I will say this, I think the ultimate best series is the Dark-Hunters from Kenyon.

Tricia I am inclined to agree that Dark-Hunters is a must on the pnr list

I agree with you Tricia, I love the Dark-Hunters series with Black Dagger Brotherhood either being a tie or a real close second. I love the world Kenyon has created. Also I have too many other series that I really like to list them.

I just started reading series/book (for that matter) seriously this year. So my experience is still in baby step. :) There are a lot of series from this group that I have yet to try but so far here are my favorites (not in any particular order):

1) Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer - This is my first series and the one that brings me back to book.
2) Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare
3) Night Huntress Series by Jeannie Frost
4) Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon
5) Wicked Lovely/Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr

Does anyone know anything about Rob Thurman's Cal Leandros series? I saw a blurb for the 4th one today, and it sounded really good. I was wondering if anyone's read the series and can recommend it.
