Very Very sane! Perhaps coming from a time that was much more brutual than our own and his training in Sparta gave him the ability to better cope with such extreme torture... but still 2 thousand years is a bloody long time!
I love how it's almost like he is in black and white in the beginning, then as he starts to remember his past and what it truly feels like to live, his personailty goes into full colour.
It's such a great love story, as even though he may be a true Spartan warrior, and saves grace from danger, it's really Grace who is the hero of this story.
Rereading this reminded me of how much I loved this series the first time round! :)

I love Dr. Grace Alexander as a heroine and would love to discuss her later, but this question is about Julian. Personally, I thought he fared pretty well for a guy who spent thousands of years inside of a book, only able to come out for a month at a time and, let's just face it, any sexual pleasure was one-sided.
So, what do you guys think about Julian? Do you think he was pretty sane considering how he has spent the last couple of thousand years?
