Hazel is awesome I agree -
But don't you think her stubbornness can get annoying at times? Especially when it drives her to things like Blood, or prevents her telling Owen how she feels about him.

I loved Hazel but was frustrated that she and Owen were always pushed apart by events....yes I like a Happy Ending.....and it's sort of a happy ending for them...or is it?
Haha, Hazel was great, and I think that the way she and Owen finally ended up together was beautiful - their whole emotional journey... but the ending kind of creeped me out a little. I was like; "...What?"
But I suppose it is a happy ending. :)

I so agree....I was like...well...that's one way of ensuring they end up together....and I found it creepy too....
I don't know if you've read my review of Coda, but here's what I wrote about the ending:
"Aside from those already mentioned, there is one main problem that I have with this book. Now, I’m completely prepared to duck flying shoes and be told that I need to get back in Pure Humanity where I belong, but I felt really uncomfortable with how Brett and Rose ended up. When I said that I wanted them to balance each other out a little bit, that didn't mean hat I wanted them to end up as the same person in two bodies! There is only one word for that – creepy. Go ahead; tell me to get my ass back in Pure Humanity. I won’t change my mind. And the other thing that I had a problem with in this same category; how Owen and Hazel ended up. I guess that, even though they had gone quite beyond humanity with the Maze's power, I was comfortable when they remained with the appearance of Humanity. Instead they have to turn into these beings of light… ah well. I’ll just keep thinking that wherever they go they often return to their human forms. Anyway, the romantic among us will get warm happy tingly feelings from the image of Owen and Hazel flying through the sky together, forever."
So yeah, I was obviously happy they ended up together, so I'm not going to complain overly, but still... *creeped out face* :D

Oh I'd forgotten about the Brett Rose bleed over too...But was it a cop out? the only way Green could see those two ever being together (I'm talking Hazel and Owen) was as beings of light???
Yeah, I don't know about it being a cop out... I mean, he kind of makes it sound like they can return to human form when they wish, if they wish. So I don't know... I mean, I'd rather that than Green making one of them die (though it would have been wonderfully dramatic), but my preference would have been them being together, well, normally, even if they were immortal. I know, I'm boring, but I think it would be the nicest, most natural ending for two beings a lot less "natural" in human terms than they used to be. :)
I agree - I wanted them to end up arguing on a planet somewhere, surrounded by family and friends...or at least people who weren't trying to kill them....And with Bret and Rose - that's just plain creepy - I love my partner, but I couldn't imagine being inside his thoughts all the time....and I can just imagine what it would be like with him in mine....he'd be telling me right now - go and do your exam revision...hahahahah
Hahaha, I loved how you put that - "arguing on a planet somewhere, surrounded by family and friends...or at least people who weren't trying to kill them..." :D
You are right though, that's exactly what I wanted. And the thought of them having children together would be... interesting, to say the least. Teehee.
Brett and Rose were so creepy! I loved their relationship, and I was hoping for them to each give a little and balance each other. But instead neither of them bend an inch, and end up, like, the same person?! Just. No. I mean really. No.
And I agree - I don't have a boyfriend at the moment, but I know whoever I was with I sure wouldn't want to be mind-melded to them in any way at all. Part of the fun of being with someone I think is working through things, rather than just kind of being in each others thoughts. Which I guess is what pissed me off about Brett and Rose, and some of the other relationships in the series - Green just couldn't have his characters end up like normal people. I think that's why I liked Finlay and Evangeline so much, because they were pretty much the only characters lucky enough (aside from Constance and Robert) to get their happy, normal ending. :)

Now Silver was interesting - the old boyfriend rears his head up.....made Owen sit up and take notice....But interesting too with the back story with her addiction etc...
LOL, all good. I'd love to hear more about that backstory, it was very... fishy, methinks. And I wish we'd had an explanation about how he was an esper and Legion didn't really affect him.
Without Owen, do you think Silver would have been a good match for Hazel?

I think Silver may have been good enough for Hazel, but certainly not perfect. And yes I wonder if the backstory exists in one of the other books I can't get my hands on - like Mistworld????
I've found it at the library - Mistworld, Hellworld all combined into one book called Deathstalker Prelude - have ordered it....cannot wait....
Ooooh, I am so jealous! All I've been able to find do far is an electronic version, and I hate reading on the computer... :(
Yeah, it would be. :)
Just to let you know, after today I'm not going to be on for three weeks. :( I left an absence notice in the General Stuff folder - that should give you the details. :)

Thanks. :) This is the last time I'll be on, but I look forward to talking to you all when I get back. :)
Look forward to talking to you when you do get back and I hope to have gotten my hands on the Deathstalker prelude by then.....
I have prelude. It doesn't tell us much about Hazel though. Did you not know prelude combined the three short stories into 1 book?
No - I was hoping for more - I've been searching for the book through the library system....are they the same as the http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/62... ?
I'm still looking for the prelude series as well. To find the compilation of the series in one book, I think the book is just called "Twilight of the Empire". Here's the link: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/49...
P.S. - Lovely to start talking to you all again!

Ok so I had this dream last night, can't really remember what was happening but someone had the ability to cancel out Hazels maze power of calling up alternate versions of herself. They were disappearing. Now who could we give this ability to though?
Weirdly enough, I would say give it to Owen. He's probably about the only one to be trusted with that sort of power in regards to Hazel.
Exactly. He can be trusted with it, I think, because he loves Hazel and would only use it for her own good, when she was getting out of hand as she sometimes does.

She's a tall, redheaded kick ass women who 'rescues' owen in the beginning of the series and sticks by his side throughout the story.
I wish I could find me a women like her.
