E.K. Blair (ekblair) | 3 comments Branching in to PROOFREADING/COPYEDITING. If you are looking for someone who is reasonably priced, then contact me. We can discuss and negotiate a deal.

I am a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a degree in elementary education that I have primarily applied in a traditional teaching career. However, I have a particularly keen interest in expanding my skill set by branching into editing.

Having an extensive knowledge of grammar and a great deal of experience fine tuning the development of an author's voice, it seems a natural transition to apply those talents to literature.

I am a self-driven individual with an especially good eye for detail. What I lack in direct line editing experience I more than compensate for with a desire to build my resume and enhance the quality of your writing.

Just send me message and let me know what you are needing and how I can help!

Jessica Mahler (jessicamahler) | 2 comments Not the usual kind of resource, but naturalreaders.com has a free text-to-speech program that will read your work back to you - I've found it helps a lot in catching duplicate words, poor phrasing, and typos. It's far from perfect, but works to catch a lot of common problems.
