Happily Ever After Cafe discussion

Taking nominations for the January to March Classic Book Group read.

Please try to nominate Happily Ever After type books and try to find books not over 800 pages.

Is The Three Musketeersa HEA? I've never read it so I'm not sure.

I don't think it qualifies. It's over 900 pages and I don't know about a HEA.

Melissa, The Three Musketeers is 755 pages so that's fine. The movies have a happy ending of sorts so I'm guessing it does but not 100% sure. We can put it on the list for now unless we are told otherwise.

I love The Three Musketeers! Right now I'm reading The Picture of Dorian Grey. Slow going, so I probably won't be able to participate here.

Anna Karenina does NOT have a HEA ending. However, I don't know what Hollywood has done to it...LOL!

Can I suggest more than one?

I've never read it but I've always wanted to and I googled Classics with a Happy Ending and it was on the list.

I'll add Little Women. The other 2 have already been chosen in previous reads here. I read Little Women in the 70s. I loved it.

I read Little Women when I was a little girl...soooooo long ago!! I read the whole series!

I've got The Hobbit on my to read list for another group so I'll be reading it to.

Maybe if Little Women wins I'll read Little Men (or boys or whatever the next book she wrote was called).

It was Little Men and I read both back in the 70s, plus Jo's Boys.

I've got The Hobbit on my currently reading shelf already but I haven't actually started it yet. I'm waiting til the 1st. Maybe we can do a month long buddy read of it and it will give people plenty of time to read it.

OK, Little Women is winning with 18 votes. The Hobbit is 2nd with 14 votes. The voting ends today but I guess it officially ends at midnight. So unless we get some more votes, that's how it stands.
