stormhawk | 1184 comments Every now and again I rediscover my public library's electronic collection. Mostly I use them for Kindle Books I'm interested in, but not interested in paying for ... but they have a much more extensive audiobook collection. I started by downloading some books that weren't available in ebook editions, and am now searching out audiobooks!

I've "read" Monk's Hood and The Heretic's Apprentice from the Brother Cadfael series, The Mummy Case, which is part of another historical mystery series by a different author, and I'm currently enjoying Casino Royale. I'm on the waitlist for The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America, which I have read before, but one of the doc's at work got the audiobook after I suggested the book to her and she said it was a really good listen.

Joanne | 3 comments Audible.com had a sale recently and I picked up Wool Omnibus (Wool, #1-5) by Hugh Howey for $3.95! Cheaper than the Kindle e-book! I first tried Audible by getting Whispersync with one of the books I bought at Amazon - very cool! I get the library Overdrive Media books, too. Right now I'm listening to The Good Son by Michael Gruber . I love to listen the audiobooks while I'm doing stuff around the house - cooking, etc.!

I'd love to hear (ha ha) other recommendations!

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) The Harry Potter books are amazing on auido. Jim Dale is the god of all audiobook readers.

I just finished American Lightning by Howard Blum

and am currently listening to: Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) OK I don't recommend Infinite Jest on audio. The narrator is good but you need the print version to read the footnotes. The narrator is male and every so often there's a female voice saying a number. But without the book handy, I can't read the footnotes. So getting it from the library.
